good morning internet welcome to royal clarence i was just thinking today i was watching the news there first of all my love to ukraine and we we support ukraine here over here at um i mean all of england really supports all of britain supports ukraine in fact i'm i haven't met anyone who doesn't support ukraine but you know i am very aware that we don't you know we we have a palatable um media forced upon us we spoke about this the other day we we only hear what they want us to hear um but i i really do think that the language now that um is evident on the tv reportage that i'm getting certainly this morning is no longer as pessimistic as it was was and if you listen between the lines you can sort of hear things that are for
example they've used attempting quite a lot today so rather than the russians are doing something today it's more like the russians are attempting to do something and that sort of language means so much doesn't it it means they're not they're not getting as far as we thought they were getting or that or as far as they were getting in fact at the beginning now i'm no um you know commander or what have you but our news here in the uk is a very um we all we hear is about the refugees and um that we do get a bit of uh you know um study about
the map and where where the russians are etcetera but i'm i'm very aware that they wouldn't tell us what's happening with our um forces now a couple of ships we've seen going out i live right on the harbour portsmouth harbor we'd actually we're in the line of fire i actually said to mum the other day i think we need to move for a bit um up to our place in the hebrides as you know mum's scottish and we just get you know if things start to get a bit fruity this end but right up at the other end and there are a couple of islands out of sky all of lewis and nobody would bomb those up pretty sure um four or 500 miles away 500 miles north on the outskirts of the north of scotland um unfortunately we don't need a passport to get to scotland yet but
scotland does want its independence and which is a silly move city move please stay with with um the english although technically i'm scottish i would get a scottish passport i suppose i'd have jewel dual nationality because my father was english technically although he was born in the channel islands and if they wanted their independence goodness me anyway digressing as usual so um i because i i can see from if i get i can't see from my window but if i get up and go downstairs and just you know walk my imaginary dog 50 paces i i can see the dockyard you see in portsmouth harbor and i can see the ships they are the the um you know the fighting ships the frigates and the aircraft carriers and what have you so we've seen a couple
leave lately but they they they don't tell us what's going on so you sort of think oh okay that's some movement that's interesting there's obviously not trials going on now obviously you know proper movement probably towards the crimea um and we also don't hear about you know we get the odds um you know uh report about the lending plans or lending uh firearms or or giving rather to the ukrainian um army we don't really hear stuff and we heard yesterday about the americans giving more trillions to the war effort and i i was thinking today it's things are seemingly a little bit more positive now what you've got as an onlooker is you've got the whole of europe and america giving arms support money to the ukrainians and and now you've got the russians saying or the reporting of the russian um advance saying things like
attempting hello romeo and i i just think this is really sounding quite exciting today this is sounding a bit like maybe they're not going to make it after all so i don't know about you but i'm feeling a bit positive and i'm thinking you know the russkies took on more than they could chew that's what i'm thinking those pesky ruskies as...
