hello darlings welcome to royal clarence now i have romance on my mind this morning i'll tell you why look it's not me who's involved in romance as such but i am sort of i think it's perfect actually i'm going to become a romance writer now i see myself as a barbara cartland with a modern edge do you see so i i just looked up the mills and boone formula and the formula according to milson boone is there is no formula so i thought well that's very interesting

because i'm not a i'm not particularly formulaic in my writing yet of course i'm writing a science fiction role play book for for older teens and young adults but there i i do have a romance in there this is my book um the the role play book that's on my website um and it's called immersion and uh it's well anyway i won't tell you what it's about but there is a love element in it because i couldn't help myself i my main character renick has a crush on another character called shabra and i wanted to take that a bit further but i had to remind myself no this is a

science fiction set in the future um and it's a an all-action book there's no room for love in it i was interested that i wanted to write about love and romance and of course donnie's i've been married four times and what what that means is that i'm highly experienced in love and failure now the mills and boone formula apart there is a formula because the the the um the guidance if you like on there how to write a milton boone blog is two characters who love each other or who are going to fall in love and a happy ending so there we've got a formula straight away
there has to be a happy ending and i like this idea because i like happy endings too i notice when i watch films if there's an unhappy ending i'm totally distraught and i can't sleep for a week so suspending reality and taking me to that that point of belief i i'm very susceptible to it i'm very emotional and you know i get really involved and i want a happy ending of course hollywood when they write um films they quite often do an ending and then show it to a a group a pilot group if you like and if they don't like the ending they change the ending this is this is how storytelling works we need you know specifically in a love story we need a happy

ending so i'm going to give it a bash today and i'm going to write my first i've got a podcast and it's called stories of romance and it's doing really really well it's my second most popular podcast apart from this special effects which is fantastic absolutely fantastic but all the stories that i've that i'm telling over there at the moment are are read by librivox volunteers and they are in the public domain so they are written before 1926 so they're a bit old-fashioned so i thought well perhaps i should write one today and you know throw myself into it and i because i love writing sci-fi you see i can i can write a science fiction love story they're

going to be short they'll be teacup shorts over to read them over your cup of tea i'm not going to send them off to mills and boone because i've got my own publishing um website so that it'd be silly to do that so but i'm going to give you a bash so my four husbands they fail we obviously they've you know they're no longer here they're not under the patio darlings i i did what i could and they turned out totally un unsuitable i was managing marriage marrying rather beneath my class you see and this is where things went wrong the the idea of love crossing class barriers is really a fantasy it does it just doesn't work because because they

want to eat kebabs and i want to go to the ivy and and this is the problem at the end of the day there's a taste uh uh clash if you like and and you can't ever um mold somebody once once they're past 18 and they've they're from the gutter unfortunately they're no longer malleable it's completely out of the question the gutter is so inbred as is of course um...
