We know Philip Bliss as a prolific hymn writer and we sing many of his hymns most Sundays.  Philip Bliss was born into a poor Pennsylvania farmer's home.  Though money was not in abundance, his parents gave him a rich godly heritage. From a young age, Philip had an exceptional musical talent, making instruments and a gifted singing voice.  He would use this talent for the glory of God.
