Sander Cohen

Though you encounter many “colorful” characters during your journey through Rapture, few will haunt your memory like Sander Cohen. The self-declared artist of Rapture claims to have an eye for sculpture and beauty, yet all he leaves behind is death and bewilderment. Your encounter with Cohen will certainly creep you out, but in true Bioshock fashion, you won’t want the spectacle to end thanks to the amazing environment and haunting music the scene presents you with. For Team Diabolical, Sander Cohen represents everything we love about Rapture; interesting characters combined with haunting atmospherics. If you have yet to do so, it’s high time to take in a Cohen Masterpiece.

Doctor Steinman

Is creepy your flavor? Paging Dr. J.S. Steinman to your thoughts. As you advance through the medical pavilion, it becomes clear that Rapture’s Surgeon General has lost his way and is looking to twist yours as well. This splicer is obsessed with perfection and as Andrew Ryan mentions, is a bit of a loon (but a fine Surgeon). No kiddies, apples won’t save you now. The doctor is in.

This Week’s Dope

 Chuck’s Dope

Black Series Tie Fighter Pilot – It’s no secret that I’m a mark for Hasbro’s large scale Star Wars Black Series action figure line. For the most part, the sculpts have been well executed and it’s hard to find better articulation in a mass market toy line. That being said, the Tie Fighter Pilot figure has set the bar pretty high going forward. The sculpt is, for my money, the best in the series to date and, let’s be honest here, it’s a friggin’ Tie Fighter Pilot. You just can’t own a 6″ Darth Vader figure without a Tie Pilot or two flanking him. If you’re late to the Black Series game, or just looking for a cool action figure to pick up, I highly recommend this Imperial aviator. You won’t be sorry… easily my dope this week. Check out John Carlos’ video review of the figure below.

Curtis’ Dope

Gone Girl – Sometimes a revelation can leave your mind buzzing and David Fincher’s Gone Girl did just that. Featuring one Ben Affleck as a hard to root for protagonist, it got my mind thinking he may just be able to pull off a smug, self-assured Batman. Zach Snyder saw something in Affleck and I think I just saw it too. Hence my dope.
