Carrie & Molly leave Indian creek and head to the most exciting part of the trip…Tapto Lakes! Along the way, they talk about the food they are banned from eating outdoors, the sandbars of graybeal, and the 4700’ of ascent complete with a climbers trail.

After crossing the waterfall and snow field, the girls face their biggest challenge yet… a bushwhack deep in the heart of the North Cascades. They tangle with devil’s club, a collapsing forest floor, and avoid piles of bear scat as they search for a good spot to cross the river. They reflect on their largest river crossing to date and revel in the peace of Indian Creek camp following an especially challenging and adventurous day on trail.

Molly, Carrie and Rachel look forward to an easy ridge walk, but find the copper ridge is a jumble of complex terrain with ups and downs, waterfall and snowfield crossings and fierce brush. Nevertheless, they enjoy the unbelievable scenery and work as a team to solve the challenges of the day.

On the first day of their North Cascades adventure, the group ascends Hannegan Pass through hordes of flies and heat. Once they make it to the pass they enjoy great scenery and the mother of all inventions: the NeckChiller 9000. They tackle Hell’s gorge and experience Silesia camp while enjoying many laughs along the way.
