right hello crazy upcyclers like me this is the couch which do you know what it looks so magenta or aubergine aubergine isn't it it looks so aubergine in this light where i've moved it um a little bit more i think in in the video than actually in real life but in real life it just looks brown normally it's only when it's next to white it suddenly looks um a little bit more interesting and it is an interesting color but if you look at the difference between the tone of the black floor and and the couch you can see that it's it's kind of i don't know it it's just sucking everything up so i'm going to do this really radical thing which is to paint it and i've no idea
let's step back a little bit i have no idea if it's going to work now it's absolute chaos in here at the moment um and it's because i'm decorating the whole house so you know it's a matter of sort of moving things from one bit of the apartment to another and i've got a mass of stuff that i'm clearing out later i'm throwing away paintings or i'm taking them down to the recycle room paintings and clothes and goodness knows what because there comes a point in your life where you have to grow up when it comes to hoarding and yes i'm a recycler but actually i've got too much to recycle that that's how bad things have got um so it's pretty radical there so i'm going to do this in a minute um now i bought one a roller tray but i've got two rollers so
i'm going to do the white stuff first and then i'm going to do the bathroom which is all black and that's logical because it's going to be this is um water-based and the other is uh is oil-based so it takes white spirits so it's a nightmare to get it off so do and also there's the it's much darker the black's much darker than the white so always do your light one first it just saves so much work and but the other thing i want to show you the the bit that i did on the piano the other day with the chalk paint has worked it's i obviously tested it a bit too soon the other day but this has really worked but i don't like the matte i want a gloss so what i'm going to do is i'm going to do an undercoat in the chalk paint and then i bought some of the paint that i'm painting the bathroom with from poundland it's four pounds um but white gloss
because i'm really really happy with the way it goes on and and the smoothness and everything i just really like it um and i'm going to use that for the floor as well so i'm sure...
