so hi there everybody look what i bought now i love this it's catwoman um catwoman treasure that i found it's so adorable really cute i haven't cleaned it yet because i'm going to wait i want to dry it out a little bit more but you can look you can see it can't you oh it's so cute i love it now there's quite a lot of damage actually along here which may be where the um the paneling is at the back so and it's it's sort of um come down a little so it really needs redoing if i was going to sell this on i'd probably just leave it as it was because people like to see these original um you know the frames it tells everyone it's really old um but i want to keep this i don't want to sell it on i'm not i'm not running a business i'm running um a like campaign you know things i like all around me that's what i'm looking for so i'm going to leave it to dry out because it was very very damp when i got i got about six uh paintings yesterday um prints and paintings and
they were all quite damp so i'm going to let them completely dry out out of the sun and not on top of a radiator but you know near a radiation certainly not in a a damp area you want to get them off the floor um you know space them out a bit so they're not on top of each other um and once it's dried out then you can sort of have another look and so the first thing would be to brush it off you could use a handheld hoover on a very light suction if you think you know it's not so fragile that you're going to hurt it and then once all that's happened you can see what you're dealing with you really see the damage um i mean if you look down here we've got this very ugly watermark but it could be that i could remount it and cover that you know would that matter but probably not actually and a remount will protect it from its next um uh life i mean this was this is 1884. you know it's it's still got life in it i mean the colors these were hand-painted um prints copper prints probably um there were a lot of this sort of thing made at the time this was christmas issue so it would have been a special issue in a magazine but i mean the color it's probably been in you can see that coming can't you and you know i haven't even started it it's not even a wet cloth it's absolutely fantastic i can't believe the color you see a lot of these but the color is very faded and so i'm i'm pretty chuffed that i've got one that's um that's this good even though it looks a bit of a mess at the moment um and i i fully intend to have another frame as well now let me show you what else i got because i was really really pleased with this so and there's no glass on it um it's a watercolor maybe some gouache i
don't know i have to check with my eyeglass but this is definitely a watercolor um now you can see the foxing these brown bits that's all called foxing um now most of the foxing is actually on the frame or the mount rather so that's good news for us because i'm going to replace that assuming it's not too difficult i mean it might be completely stuck down in which case i would probably get a very sharp knife and cut it out it needs to get away from this that's for sure i mean i can still feel the damp on it actually um now it is possible to get rid...
