hello charlie's welcome to world class i'm so excited it's all launched the video channel the tv channel the salon de la marie tv show is launched oh what a day i've had honestly it was kind of mixed emotions really with you're starting something new at this late stage of life you know i'm 60 years old and i'm launching a fashion brand um i was thinking back to you know this is my third attempt actually at creating a fashion brand because years ago when the kids were little i was making i made all their clothes because it was quite cheap to make them so the standard that i wanted you know the beautiful standard that i wanted and i was making uh i
made a selection of wonderful application mocks and they were superb sent the photographs up to covent garden but didn't get a stall i mean we know now that these things are just huge waiting lists it doesn't matter what what your stuff is like but also it matters how many other stalls they have of a similar ilk do you see so i didn't know any of these things at that time i was just bitterly disappointed and never didn't sew again until about 10 years later i suppose when i made i was i was making well it's quite a good idea actually i might do it again lounge suits or basically posh track suits i had it in my head that you could make posh traxxas
because i was a mum and i was doing the school run and all these private schools and i never i didn't know what to wear because i had to be comfortable because i had you know a vomity baby and then these three older children it was just you know not the sort of thing that you'd wear your sunday best for at all you just want to be comfortable you could get in that out the car etcetera etcetera so i had this idea about posh lounge suit and i i made my mother model them i mean it was 30 years ago so my mother would have been 50 so younger than i am now and i stuck her against a tree i recall and said look casual but posh can you imagine i still quite like this idea but i didn't have money to invest in my business at that point i didn't have any
money to buy really good fabric and the fabric i bought was a cheap stretch jersey with a soft inside it was very thick but it was cheap but it had far too much stretch in it so it didn't um it didn't look good when it was on it just looked like fat fabric which it was you know so nobody wants to wear that um but i think my mum liked the track suit she said look my mom's she's such a generous woman of spirit she she pretended she liked it anyway i might do them again who knows so i've done my three videos today um it's so hard you have to be very confident to do a video and i'm hoping i'll get used to it um you know i haven't been on video i was a
regular video vlogger and you know always on video always making videos of myself um you know through my performance and things like that and i i was much less self-conscious then and i suppose you know i've got a bit older i'm thinking god people think i'm so old and that's i need to get...
