hello internet welcome to royal clarence now it's very strange today because suddenly i can hear again when i'm recording my podcasts and it feels really odd because i i just had my ears done yesterday and everything's really crystal clear well effectively i've doubled my hearing haven't i um anyway let me tell you about it so i'd been to the hospital because things were very uncomfortable and i'd gone completely deaf in one ear i mean literally i could not hear
anything other than um things that were happening inside my mouth at the back on the top so when i was cleaning my teeth for example so i was a hearing through that bone uh the the inside bone of my ear but i couldn't hear anything outside um and i i think i had to wait about three weeks before i got an appointment to um suck out the wax it was quite revolting i must say anyway i managed to get quite anxious about it because i knew it was a vacuum and i just thought well that's that's really going to hurt you know when you've got an ear infection and and you it feels like someone's just trying to you know suck your whole brain out of your ear i thought it was going to be something like that but it wasn't it was really i mean the chap his
name was adam and he was wonderful a wonderful man who was asking me about my tattoos he was just super super jolly friendly chat anyway he had this uh very very tiny um tube and he put it against the back of my hand and the suction was so light so incredibly light and i thought that was not going to suck anything out and i half expected to be you know because if i was convinced it was hard as a pebble so i half expected that to occur um anyway he looked in one ear and he said no that's clear that one's fine and he looked in the one that was blocked and he said oh yes we'll get that out i was so pleased i thought oh thank goodness thank goodness because the deafness was just increasing with the more more and more olive oil i
put in there seem to be making it worse and worse and worse anyway he just popped the tube in and took out what was in there and i could hear and it was stupendous now what he took out was very small and i can't believe it has been calling me causing me so much grief um but mother was with me and she said well could you look in mine she wasn't booked in was it was lovely for adam to fit us in anyway my mum's been getting this swollen lymph gland at the back of her jaw sort of halfway up and it it swells up like a hamster and she's been getting it for about three years and it throbs and aches and she'd been to the nurse and the nurse had
looked in her and said no there's a bit in there but it's fine anyway adam looked in her both her ears and said and was incredulous and he said oh no you're very very full and we could not believe that mother was not deaf now why mine why i was deaf and mother hadn't noticed i mean i'd noticed she was a bit deaf but i just thought oh she's old you know it's going to it's going to come to us all in the end isn't it when we're now approaching 80. anyway he took the contents of mothers out and it was much you could tell by the color that it was much older and hers were pebble-like and she absolutely amazed afterwards crystal clear couldn't believe it so i'm going to recommend darlings that you all go regularly because i don't think you
necessarily understand that it's happening and today i can feel that every sound but it's coming through the other side and it i'm just so grateful that i had it done it really it doesn't hurt it's a total you know i went to the opticians to have it done i don't know where you are but you need to have this section suction thing you don't want to be sectioned yet do we this suction thing because it's so easy and so light there was no it there were no instruments put in my ear there was no bragging around he had his little thing of olive oil in case i needed it but i didn't because i've been...
