Help People to Like You. Tactic 2 - The Art of Listening
Tactic #2: The Art of Listening Here's the deal: Having a mouth is one thing, but knowing when to zip it is a game-changer. When speaking, your voice only accounts for 20% of the game, while the remaining 80% is about listening. It's about asking questions, soaking up the answers, and engaging with the other person. And whatever you do, steer clear of the dreaded story-topping habit! Have you ever felt you should get that well-deserved promotion but don't or need help to connect with your boss? You put incredible effort into your work but never see the sales you should. Or you may wonder why your circle of friends isn't as big as you'd like. Your neighbors may seem distant, and daily conflicts are a norm. You might even suspect some folks aren't too keen on you, but they're not saying it outright – it's easier for them to dodge you. Well, guess what? This 6-part series is your ticket to transforming your perspective, behavior, and life. Here's the raw truth: For most people (including myself), our people skills could use some work. But here's the exciting part: That promotion you've been eyeing? It's within your reach. Your employer, the one you don't quite click with? They're about to become your fans. Sales? Get ready to see them soar. Friends will start returning your messages. Your neighbors? They're inviting you over for a BBQ. And your love life? Brace yourself for something spectacular. This series is tailor-made for you! It's your launchpad to a new level in life, business, and career. My friend, we’re glad you’re here. Help People to Like You. Tactic 1 - Be authentic. Be interested in other people.
Tactic #1: Be Your Authentic Self and Show Genuine Interest in Others. Let's break a common myth: You might believe that talking endlessly about yourself is captivating, but the truth is, it can get old fast.  If you want to improve your connections with people, try something different – be genuinely interested in THEM. Resist the urge to make every conversation about YOU. If you face interpersonal challenges in various aspects of your life, this 6-part series will help you. It's a fact that people might not always express their dislike for you openly; instead, they might find it easier to avoid you. This series addresses the elephant in the room – if you're struggling with interpersonal skills, you're not alone. The good news? You can turn things around: That promotion you've been eyeing? It's within reach. Your employer, whom you haven't clicked with? You can build a positive relationship. Your sales performance? It's about to skyrocket. Your social life? Expect more returned messages. Even your neighbors want to invite you to their barbecue. And your love life? It's about to become spectacular. This 6 part series will help you achieve success in your life, business, and career. 100X EDGE High-Performance Life Coaches Phil and Catherine Wall teach specific tactics that worked for them.  Whether you believe you're already decent with people or need to improve your people skills, this practical series will support your personal development journey. #16 - Should you avoid the truth?
Well, my friend, avoiding the truth can be like trying to run a race with one foot tied behind your back. It's easier in the short term but holds you back from reaching your full potential in the long run. You're missing out on valuable personal growth and improvement opportunities when you avoid the truth. Just like in high-performance coaching, facing the truth is crucial. It's like identifying the hurdles on the track to leap over them or trying to drive a high-performance car with a blindfold on - sooner or later, disaster will come.  Embrace the truth, learn from it, and use it as a stepping stone to become the 100X version of yourself. Working as 100X EDGE high-performance life coaches, we understand that facing the truth head-on is essential for personal growth and success. One of the core principles that Catherine and I live by is radical honesty. It's the idea that we must confront the truth, no matter how uncomfortable it may be. When we avoid the truth, we're essentially running away from reality, and that's a surefire way to hinder our progress. Imagine you're in a marriage, and underlying issues need addressing. It could be a breakdown in communication or unspoken resentments. If you avoid the truth and pretend everything is fine, you're setting yourself up for disaster. In high-performance life coaching, we encourage open and honest communication. It's the only way to resolve issues and strengthen the bonds in your relationships. The same goes for personal development. Suppose you're unwilling to face the truth about your weaknesses and areas where you need improvement. In that case, you'll never reach your full potential.  High performers understand that acknowledging and taking responsibility for our flaws is the first step towards massive growth. It's like fine-tuning a high-performance engine; you must identify the areas needing work. Avoiding the truth leads to self-deception. You start believing your lies, and that's a slippery slope. In 100X EDGE coaching, we emphasize self-awareness. You must be brutally honest to identify your limiting beliefs and self-sabotaging behaviors. Only then can you start dismantling and replacing them with empowering thoughts and actions. In personal relationships, avoiding the truth can lead to a breakdown of trust. Trust is the foundation of any strong partnership in business, friendships, or marriage. When you avoid the truth, you erode that trust. 100X EDGE individuals understand the importance of trust and integrity. They know that owning up to mistakes and being truthful, even when difficult, is the path to building and maintaining trust and respect. Consider the impact on mental and emotional well-being. When we avoid the truth, we carry the weight of unresolved issues and unspoken feelings. It's like dragging a heavy anchor behind you. In high-performance life coaching, we teach techniques for managing stress and maintaining mental clarity. Facing the truth is a significant part of this process. It allows you to release pent-up emotions and find solutions to your problems. The bottom line is that life is undeniably more challenging when we avoid the truth. 100X EDGE life coaches understand that radical honesty and facing reality are keys to personal development and success. It's about taking off the blindfold, confronting your challenges head-on, and steering your life in the direction you want.  Embrace the truth, learn from it, and use it as a stepping stone to become the 100X version of yourself. That's how you stay on the EDGE of life! 100X EDGE Website Instagram Facebook Twitter Linkedin YouTube Medium

#15 - How do you control your day?
Are you in the driver's seat of your day, or is your day steering you around? That's a question we often face in high-performance life coaching. It's a crucial concept that can give you a 100X EDGE difference. Imagine your day as a powerful sports car, and you're the driver. You have the steering wheel in your hands, and the engine roars with potential. You can take this car wherever you want, reaching your goals and dreams with precision. That's what it means to be in control of your day. Now, picture a scenario where you wake up, and your day immediately takes control of you. The car is careening down a winding road, and you're gripping the wheel for dear life. Your schedule is jam-packed with meetings, tasks, and distractions, and you're just reacting to everything that comes your way. This is what it feels like when your day is controlling you. How do you shift from being a passenger in your day to being the driver? It all starts with intentional planning and a high-performance mindset. Set Clear Intentions: Before your day even begins, take a few moments to set clear intentions. What do you want to achieve today? What are your top priorities? Write them down and visualize yourself accomplishing them. Create a Schedule: A well-structured schedule is your roadmap for the day. Allocate specific time blocks for tasks, meetings, and breaks. Stick to this schedule as closely as possible. Prioritize Tasks: Not all tasks are created equal. Use the 100X EDGE principle to identify the most important and impactful tasks. Focus on these first and tackle less critical items later. Minimize Distractions: Distractions are the roadblocks. Identify common distractions and take steps to minimize them. This might mean turning off notifications or finding a quiet workspace. Practice Self-Discipline: As a high-performance life coach, we understand the importance of self-discipline and practice it daily; it's not simple or easy, but it is worth it. Stay committed to your schedule and goals, even when tempted to veer off course. Review and Reflect: At the end of the day, review your accomplishments and reflect on what went well and what could be improved. Adjust your approach for the next day based on these insights. Remember, being in control of your day isn't about eliminating all surprises or challenges. Life is unpredictable, and curveballs will come your way. However, by following these principles, you can respond to those challenges with resilience and maintain your focus on your goals. Success and mediocrity often boil down to how well you control your day. Will you let the day dictate your actions, or will you take the wheel and drive toward your vision of a well-balanced, fulfilled life? Ultimately, the choice is yours, and it's a choice that can lead you to personal development, and a life lived at the highest level of performance. Seize the steering wheel, my friend, set your course, and drive your day towards greatness. Your 100X EDGE life journey begins with each new day you control. 100X EDGE Website Instagram FaceBook Twitter Linkedin YouTube Medium

#14 - Does consistency work?
Consistency is a vital component of becoming a high performer in your life. It's like doing daily push-ups for your personal development muscles. First, set clear and achievable goals. They act as your compass, guiding you toward your vision. Break them into smaller, manageable tasks to avoid feeling overwhelmed. Remember, developing yourself into a high-performance is built one step at a time. Next, embrace a winning mindset. Challenge your negative thoughts and replace them with empowering beliefs. Your thoughts are like the steering wheel of your life - where you point them, you go. Keep your mind turbocharged with positivity. Consistency thrives on routines. Could you set up a daily routine that aligns with your goals? It's like the fuel that powers your high-performance engine. Dedicate time for self-improvement, exercise, and reflection. Your daily disciplines define your destiny. Accountability is your trusty co-pilot. Could you share your goals with someone who can hold you to them, like a life coach or a trusted friend? They'll keep you on the track, ensuring you don't drift away. Lastly, review and adjust regularly. Like a high-performance engine needs regular maintenance, your life requires periodic evaluation. Analyze your progress, tweak your strategies, and keep evolving. Consistency isn't about perfection; it's about progress. Stay committed to these principles, and you'll build unstoppable momentum toward becoming a high-performing 100X EDGE champion in your life. 100X EDGE Website Instagram Facebook Twitter Linkedin YouTube Medium

# 13 - What’s it like living with no excuses?
Living a life of excuses is like trying to swim with cement blocks around your ankles. It's counterproductive, holds you back from reaching your true potential, and ultimately prevents you from achieving that 100X EDGE.  In personal development, excuses hinder progress while everyone else moves forward. Excuses Are the Silent Saboteurs: Imagine you're coaching someone to become a high-performance athlete, but they keep saying, "I can't train today because it's too hot," or "I don't have the right gear." These are excuses, and they're like little thieves stealing your dreams. Living a life full of excuses means sabotaging your success without even realizing it. Excuses vs. Solutions: High performers don't make excuses; they find solutions. Instead of saying, "I can't do it because I don't have time," they say, "I'll make time for what's important." This shift in mindset separates those who achieve their goals from those who only dream about them. The Comfort Zone Trap: Excuses are often rooted in the comfort zone. It's cozy in there, but nothing extraordinary ever happens. You'll never win the race if you only ever drive your Ferrari in first gear. Sometimes, you have to shift into top gear occasionally. Breaking free from excuses means shifting gears and pushing beyond your comfort zone. Accountability Matters: High performers take ownership of their actions. They don't blame circumstances, luck, or other people. Living without excuses means holding yourself accountable for your choices and actions. Excuses Keep You Stuck: When you make excuses, you tell yourself that you can't change and that your circumstances control you. That's different from how 100X EDGE life coaching works. We coach people and help them realize you have the power to shape your destiny. The Ripple Effect: Excuses don't just affect one area of your life; they create a ripple effect. If you make excuses for not exercising, it can lead to health issues. If you make excuses at work, it can hinder your career. It's like a domino effect that impacts everything. A Life Half-Lived: Living a life full of excuses means living half-lived. You miss out on opportunities, personal growth, and the satisfaction of achieving your goals. It's like having a powerful tool but refusing to use it. The Power of "I Can": High-performance individuals replace excuses with "I can." They say, "I can learn," "I can improve," "I can overcome obstacles." This mindset shift propels them forward, helping them reach new heights. Breaking Free: To break free from a life of excuses, identify them. What are the common excuses you make? Once you recognize them, challenge them. Ask yourself if they're valid or just barriers you've created in your mind. Embrace the 100X EDGE: Living without excuses is embracing the 100X EDGE philosophy. It's about taking control and responsibility for your thoughts and actions, committing to personal growth, and pushing past limitations. It's about living life to the fullest without holding back. Living a life of excuses is like keeping your Ferrari in the garage and never taking it out. To achieve that 100X EDGE, you must release the handbrake of excuses and accelerate toward your goals. Remember, excuses are the roadblocks on the highway to success. Remove them, and you'll experience a life of limitless possibilities and high-performance achievements. The Day you choose to live a life with zero excuses is when you decide to own your life.  It's simple: no more excuses. 100X EDGE Website Instagram FaceBook Twitter Linkedin YouTube Medium

#7 - How to overcome limiting beliefs.
Limiting beliefs are like invisible chains that hold us back from achieving our true potential. Those thoughts tell us we're not good enough, smart enough, or capable enough. But here's the thing: they're just thoughts, not facts! To break free from these chains, you've got to acknowledge them. Write them down, confront them head-on, and then set them on fire—symbolically! This act represents letting go of these beliefs that no longer serve you. Doing this opens up space in your mind for empowering beliefs. Start thinking like a high-performer who can achieve anything they set their mind to. Replace those old beliefs with new ones that fuel your ambition and drive. Personal development is the key to unlocking your true potential. It's about cultivating a mindset that empowers you to live life to the fullest without the limitations of self-doubt or negative beliefs. So, my 100X EDGE enthusiast, take that paper with your limiting beliefs, set it ablaze, and watch as your life transforms into a journey of boundless possibilities. Your potential knows no bounds when you break free from those limiting beliefs! 100X EDGE Website Instagram FaceBook Twitter Linkedin YouTube Medium

#6 - Financial literacy for beginners.
It might sound ridiculous, but when it comes to money, the real issue isn't the dollars and cents – it's how you're thinking about it. Yep, it's a mindset problem. If you want to see real change in your financial situation, you must start thinking differently. You see, many folks out there believe that money is the root of all their problems. But in reality, their thoughts and beliefs about money are holding them back. If you constantly worry about not having enough, guess what? You'll keep attracting financial struggles. If you want to turn things around, you've got to change your money mindset. Start thinking positively about money. Believe that you can manage it wisely and make it work for you. It's like this 100X EDGE life coaching principle: Your thoughts shape your actions, and your actions determine your results. So, if you shift your thinking from scarcity to abundance, you'll start making better financial choices. You'll attract opportunities to increase your income and manage your finances like a pro. Remember, my friend, your money problems aren't about the money itself; it's all in your mind. So, dare to think differently and watch how your financial situation transforms for the better. That's the true path to high-performance living! 100X EDGE Website Instagram FaceBook Twitter Linkedin YouTube Medium

#5 - Win when you choose principle over preference.
The choices we make shape our destiny. As a 100X EDGE high-performance life coach, I understand the importance of choosing wisely. You see, every day, you stand at a crossroads, facing decisions that impact your relationships, career, finances, and more. The critical question is: will you opt for the easy, preference-based route or embrace the more challenging, principle-based path? Let's break it down. The easy choices may provide instant gratification but often lead to short-term gains and long-term regrets. On the other hand, the principle-based choices, though demanding, build a solid foundation for success and fulfillment. For instance, chasing a paycheck might seem tempting in your career, but aligning your work with your core principles and values can lead to a truly rewarding profession. Likewise, in relationships, prioritizing genuine connection and trust over superficial attractions can lead to lasting, meaningful bonds. Financially, quick gains can vanish, while sound, boring financial principles like saving, investing, and budgeting pave the way for a secure future. So, as you navigate the sea of life's choices, remember the 100X EDGE philosophy: choose principles over preferences. It may require more effort, but the rewards will be worth it. Your life is a masterpiece in the making, and every choice you make is a brushstroke on the canvas of your destiny. Embrace the power of principled decisions, and watch your life transform into the masterpiece you envision. 100X EDGE Website Instagram FaceBook Twitter Linkedin YouTube Medium
