I never felt connected to my Korean heritage growing up in America. I lacked that “Korean Pride”. But as I got older, I wanted to reconnect with my Korean heritage and find that “belong-ness” we all crave for. Well this podcast is the “Konduit” for that reconnection. All the guests in one way or other, struggled to find themselves despite constant pressure and traditional expectations of being a Korean. I can definitely relate to that. More importantly, Jaeki and Joann are real and honest with themselves by opening up about their struggles, hopes and dreams. Thanks for helping me find that “Korean Pride”.

This program is the epitome of what I want a podcast to be. The compelling host chemistry, the focus on cultural and ethnic inclusivity (shoutout to Sahra Nguyen for representing the Viets), an illustrious and varied roster of guests, and a refreshing desire to report the underreported is what truly puts this podcast on a higher echelon (dime sound effect here lol) for me. I blow this podcast up as much as I possibly can because the energy and the info provided cannot be missed. I’m a small business owner from the left coast and love to hear what the New York community is up to. Hopefully y’all can expand to guests based on my side of the country soon. Keep up the great work.

I am not sure if you guys are actually going to see this comment but I am really a big fan of Jaeki, been bumpin to his mixtape ever since it came out, loved the badrap documentary, his clothing shops and all. And now this podcast!! 그리고 라디오를 솔직히 듣기 시작한지 얼마 안됐어요. 그런데도 6.99perpound의 notification이 뜰때는 너무 좋아서 절대 1초라고 스킵하지 않고 들어요. 학교가는 길에서 공부를 하면서 또는 집에서 가만히 들으면서 많이 배우고 가요. 특정적인 컨셉 혹은 인물이 아니라 정말 다양한 분야에서 활동하는 분들을 초대해서 그들의 이야기를 일인층의 시점으로 들을수 있어서 좋아요. 바램이 있다면, 연령대가 낮은 시청자들 위해서 공감이 갈수 있는 캐스트들 더 초대했으면 해요. 끝으로 jaeki님과 Joann님한테 하고 싶은 얘기가 있어요. 저는 현재 뉴욕에서 고등학교를 다니고 있거든요. 저한테는 배우라는 꿈이 있어요. 이걸 안하면 죽을것 같아요. 그만큼 하고 싶고 절실한 꿈인데 가족들한테는 얘기를 한적이 없어요. 요즘 마다 정말 뼈저리게 느끼는 건데 사람은 정말 자기가 하고 싶은걸 하면서 살아가야 되는것 같아요. 그런데 모든 이민 가족들이 비슷하다싶이 자식들 좋은 대학 가서 안정적인 직업을 가지길 원하잖아요? 그런 가족들의 희망을 깨자니 너무 겁이 나고 현실적인 문제들도 고려해보게 되는 거에요. 그렇다고 내 꿈이 포기하자니 저의 끼가 너무 아깝기도 하고요. 어떻게 하면 될가요? 정말 절실한거면 끝까지 가봐야 되는거겠죠? 아무튼 앞으로 꾸준히 들을거고 꾸준히 승승장구 하시길 바래요. 다음 에피소드도 기대할게요!

Okay so. This podcast is what our society needs right now. I love how Joann gets into the truth of what’s actually happening in people’s minds and careers. The honesty and wisdom I get from these episodes is out of this world, and even listening to people who don’t have the same career as I do is super productive and inspiring... we are all human at the end of the day and the life lessons discussed in these podcast episodes connects us all. Thank you for this amazing contribution to a society that needs this sort of truth!

I listen to all types of Podcasts on all my drives, insomniac nights, or whenever I thirst for knowledge. And I’m always looking for new ones. This podcast is a godsend. “6.99 Per Pound” really finds the best guests, driven experts in their field. Unlike many interview-style podcasts, Jaeki and Jojo really delves into the worlds of each guest and actually let’s them speak! They really get the guests to open up and you learn things you’ll never hear about even within each respective industry. Anyone with any amount of hustle, ambition or curiosity need to get on this ASAP. 5-stars. Thank you guys for blessing us with this one.

As a 20 something-year-old woman living in New York City this podcast is super entertaining and relatable. Love their focus on highlighting POCs! The hosts are also hilarious lol

It’s so refreshing to hear a podcast open to discussing issues of race and how it touches every aspect of our media and culture. The subjects they’ve featured so far are fascinating and the hosts do an incredible job of mediating discussion and creating an open and encouraging space for dialogue. Love love this, so cool to see something like this exist and helmed by POC. Excited for future episodes!!

Great listen! I'm not much a podcast person at all, but was kept engaged by the natural flow of the interview (made me feel like I was in the room with them). I'm super excited to hear more from future guests and will definitely be subscribing!

I love the dynamics of Jaeki and JoJo. They’re very insightful and mesh well with each other, yet they’re from different worlds. After hearing so many other podcasts interviewing your #1s and CEOs, it was refreshing to hear Donnie Young speak about his perspective as someone who doesn’t want to be in that position. Anyways, I’m excited to listen to future guests. It seems like Jaeki and JoJo would invite very unorthodox speakers. 💯
