Trying too hard to be funny
I think any fan who regularly listens to tough pigs podcasts appreciates the earnest talk, deep analysis, and natural conversation about the muppets. There’s not much of that in some of these episodes, but I don’t think it’s entirely their fault.
There’s a lot to say about Rowlf, piggy, Kermit, and the Swedish chef. But how do you fill a podcast episode about bubba the rat, the muppet tomato, pops, or the screaming goat?
Some episodes devolve into just silliness which isn’t what I value toughpigs for. It comes off as forced and belabored to the point of annoyance. I liked the episodes where they really talked about the history of the more important muppets and different facets of their characters. It’s not their fault that such obscure muppets are on the list and they have to somehow fill an episode about them. They didn’t make the list.

Thog
You got Thog to talk about Thog!!
Informative podcast (most of the time)!
Thog lives on!
It was good until…
I’ve been a Muppet fan all my life and I was young when the Muppet movies came out. I loved everything about them.
This podcast is cool for talking about the characters but one thing I find irritating or unnecessary, is when we have to worry about the violence of Miss Piggy hitting Kermit or the possible craziness of the Swedish Chef trying to kill other Muppets animals for food. He’s a chef for crying out loud, of course he’s wants to cook animals, he isn’t a psycho, he’s a chef!
The Yolanda the Rat episode was also strange where we have to worry about Rizzo cat-calling Yolanda, and that being offensive??
If that’s how the people feel about the Muppets, are you even fans? Or are you looking to hang some agenda on them??

Fell really short of expectations
When I first heard there was going to be a podcast related to the 70 Muppets in 70 weeks celebration, I was really excited. Then I listened to the first episode and felt really disappointed it was just fan talk and a conversation with performers who hadn’t performed Rowlf. I missed episode 2 and went straight to episode 3 about Pops. SPOILER ALERT: I had to turn it off after the host went to his freezer to get Pops. This may be great for the die-hard fan, but I would prefer something with more meat and less filler.

Great idea!
I love this! We need more quality muppet content for sure. Short and sweet episodes about each individual muppet is a fantastic idea for the 70th anniversary! Although I wish Rowlfs episode could get a redo because of technical difficulties. I enjoyed Peter Linz and Alice Dinnean but I wish my favorite muppet actually got the spotlight he deserves. Other than that I’m looking forward to each episode!
