Didn’t deserve to last
Clowns couldn’t even get FACTUAL things right. Like character names. Everyone doesn’t need a podcast.

Overrated
Why is it so difficult to find decent movie review podcasts? This is an 80/20 podcast. 80% of what’s discussed is not about the movie at hand. Would be sooo much better if the hosts actually focused on the movie.

Came for face-melting rawk, got educated about diagetic scoring
I am a Local H fan who has really loved the Lifers podcast and the unique chemistry shared among the hosts. That led me to this movies podcast and I have since gone down the rabbit hole on tons of movies-er, motion pictures-I’ve never even heard of. The repartee is worth the subscription alone, but I’ve actually learned a lot about movies from these two film and theater (is it thee-ate-er or thee-ter?) nerds.

Still Great
McBeardo was one of my favorite voices ever. While he’s irreplaceable, Scott has filled in nicely and I love he and Ben’s bond and knowledge.

The show must go on
I’m sure the late, great Mike McPadden would want everyone to keep sharing their passion for movies, so I’m glad that Ben decided to keep this podcast going. Scott is a great co-host who clearly knows his stuff, and his laidback demeanor fits the show perfectly. I hope the guys keep going beyond 70 movies.

Surviving and thriving
I’m happy this podcast will continue despite the huge void left by co-host Mike McPadden’s death. He was he heart of the show, but surviving contributors are shouldering on with lively discussions of one of Hollywood’s greatest decades. The best episodes feature one or the other of the Healy Brothers—true resources of film arcana with bona fides in the business. While it’s always fun to hear the hosts’ memories surrounding the first time they saw a given film theatrically at a young age, there’s a tendency to veer too far into personal nostalgia. Specifically, as some of these film buffs are also musicians, a sudden anecdote about touring or playing a certain club gig or discussion of some unknown band’s tune can stop the show cold. But there’s still plenty here to warrant a strong five-star experience.

Curious about 70’s film? Look no further!
This podcast is a must for anyone who wants to hear stories of 70’s NYC, and what movie goers were watching. Both hosts have that connection to the time period and the films discussed, when Mike and Ben tell a side story it does not distract from the film of the episode. The movie selection is also not the most obvious from the era so this listener will probably start searching to watch these gems whichever way they can. Check this podcast out!

I grew up in Queens at around the same time that these guys did. Related to so many of the area references, era refs, and pop culture refs. Their vast knowledge of film is as impressive as their passion is for it. I feel like they could use some editing, and could get to talking about the actual episode film a little sooner in each episode. But I also had a really long drive this weekend and listened to this the whole time.
