His Youtube Channel is Much Better
As the title states, I’m a big N.S. For his critical game reviews and synopses on why certain games/companies were halted. I only started 5 episode prior and had an okay time, but this episode was the nail-in-the-coffin for me for the podcast. I’m on the opposite side of the gaming spectrum than he is (I prefer PvE over PvP significantly and only prefer grouping when doing instanced PvE content), but I still find his feedback engaging and meaningful. That all said, his episode covering him reviewing X-Plays Review was just absolutely cringey. And yes, the way X-Plays did review in retrospect was quite cringey, but he completely missed the context of gaming back in day of when people didn’t even know how to leave the starting zones in WoW. He kept viewing their review as unprofessional (mind you they definitely were) and was “insulted” with some of their review. The level of stringency and elitism he produced in that one episode was too much, especially given the fact the episodes he review were near the turn of the millennium. I’m going to pretend to understand the gaming company’s mind set, but he used the power of hindsight (from almost 20 years worth of gaming since the episodes he review) to put down these review and this took greater than 30min of the podcast; exhausting. If you’re a die-hard fan of N.S., you’ll likely be able to overlook his non-scripted personality, but I can’t in good heart recommend the podcast for someone who doesn’t know of him.

Good podcast but...
Sometimes the audio cuts out and you cant listen to 30 minutes - half of the episode. I understand its more geared towards a live stream but we cant all tune in at that time.

A live stream not a podcast
I love Nerdslayer’s videos but I find it hard to recommend this “podcast” because it really isn’t one. The content is good but this was designed as a live stream that just had the audio ripped and reuploaded.
There are many times where NS addresses the chat without reading off the entire question so you are left with an answer to a question you never heard, dead air as they try to fix some stream thing that should have been cut out, or the Twitch notifications when someone follows or subs that often drowns out any point that was being made.
Forty episodes in and it is the same as episode one. It’s fairly apparent that this podcast is just another location to listen to the livestream. I gave it two stars because the content is good but the audio delivery is terrible. If you can’t get enough Nerdslayer then feel free to listen but if your looking for a pleasant MMORPG podcast to listen to there are others that out effort into their production values.
Will revisit this review again after a few more months/episodes to see if they correct the problem.
