Based off a conversation around one of Lee’s favorite bands, R.E.M., they were one of the biggest bands in the world in the early 90s-fast forward to today and it seems they’ve all but been erased.  Their first 5 albums are masterpieces (IOO), yet current indie bands rarely name them as influences, unlike The Replacements, The Smiths, or The Cure, to name a few of their contemporaries.In response, Cass mentioned a topic that comes up often in music, nostalgia, and threw out  “nostalgia is a disease”. Our main topic:The Satanic Panic-a moral panic consisting of over 12,000 unsubstantiated cases of Satanic ritual abuse starting in the US in the 80s.Of those, investigating police were not able to substantiate any allegations of organized cult abuse.
