In this Mandarin episode, I briefly introduce how China's education system is structured from kindergarten to post-secondary education: how many years for each level of schooling, if students have to take exams to move on to the next level in the system,  the school choices parents have and so on. 

Here are some useful words:

1. 教育系统(Jiàoyù xìtǒng): education system
2. 幼儿园 (yòu'éryuán): kindergarten
3. 话题(huàtí): topic of discussion
4. 公立/私立(gōnglì/sīlì): public/private (in talking about organizations such as school or hospital)
5. 咨询(zīxún): consult 
6. 一般（来说）(yībān lái shuō): in general, generally speaking
7. 学区(xuéqū): school district
8. 阶段(jiēduàn): stage, period
9. 小（学）升初（中）-xiǎo (xué) shēng chū (zhōng) : rising from elementary/primary school to middle school
10. 九年义务教育 (jiǔ nián yìwù jiàoyù): (policy) 9-year compulsory education
11. 到...为止 (dào... Wéizhǐ): until... (till...as an end)
12. 进行(jìn xíng): do, conduct
13. 通过(tōng guò)：pass 
14. 中考 (zhōngkǎo): high school entrance exam
15. 高考(gāokǎo): college entrance exam
16. 分数 (fēnshù): score (in school assessments)
17. 报考 (bàokǎo): apply for
18. 毕业 (bìyè): graduation
19. 研究生 (yánjiūshēng): graduate school student
20. 体系 (tǐxì): system
