Ultra Material:In 2012, Ultra Material was born from two couples who had shared stages with their respective husband-wife Brisbane bands, Matt & Sarah Deasy from ‘Do The Robot’ and Nick Skepper & Zuzana Kovar from "Sunshine State." The two duos combined their instruments and started to make their own blend of dreamgaze with swirling key lines, effected guitar delays and soaring vocals backed by breakbeat-esque rhythms. In the last year, they’ve released a self-titled EP cassette and their debut album ‘Double Date’ on Sydney’s Blackwire Records label, which has had tastemakers salivating for more. Within the span of two years, they’ve packed their sounds into a suitcase and travelled to the US and Europe, playing to swelling crowds, all while they were still writing songs for their first album, Teenage Dreams, which was eventually released in April 2016 on Caroline Records in Australia and Burger Records in the US.
