I’ve been in a psychiatric hospital 3 times in my life. Each time, I was in a worse and worse place, and wanted nothing to do with living. The last time I was in the process of being put in inpatient care, the hospital put me in the children's hospital wing because they didn't have enough beds in the adolescent part of the psych ward. While I was laying in the hospital bed I saw the room number, 42. Something so small as a number helped me realize that maybe the world is a better place than I thought it was.
