4TK Episode 15: Blacks in Trucking w/ Tay Carter
Switching things up a bit, this conversation was about a less talked about topic. TayJordan sat down with Tay Carter of JTX Trans. Tay started a trucking dispatch provider company at the onslaught of the pandemic. Just 6 months later, JTX is dispatching for 40 trucks. He is former collegiate athlete, and Business Major, who had no knowledge of the trucking business before taking a job as a Broker Agent, directly after college. After brokering, he and his brothers decided to get their CDL's but then his perspective changed. If you have interest in learning about a new industry, starting a lucrative business from home, or while still working your 9 to 5, then you definitely want to tune in. Tay also explains how his new course, Freight College will teach newbies just like you exactly how to work the business successfully. 4TK Episode 12: Black Athlete Money with Taryn Bushrod, The Financial Therapist
Professional Athletes make more money in a couple years than what many people are able to accumulate in the course of a lifetime. The quick walk into cash can prove to be detrimental if the athlete fails to address previous financial trauma and illiteracy. Approximately 78% of NFL players are broke just less than 2 years post retirement, while 68% of ex NBA players are broke 5 years removed from the league. Taryn Bushrod, is committed to positively changing those numbers, as the "Financial Therapist." This young, intelligent Queen is a Baltimore native with a background in financial management and consumer marketing. She helps professional athletes improve their relationship with money. With her knowledge, along with her life experiences she is able to help athletes identify the triggers of their spending habits so that they can take control of their finances and create a life that doesn’t break the bank.
