I am a beginning runner, longtime podcast listener, and only found this podcast a few weeks ago. I'm glad I have all the archives to listen to. I was hooked at first listen, largely because of the music/TV clips (Dan is a wizard!), running talk, dogs, and just listening to the chat between Nik & Dan. Nik gives me something to aspire to (marathons); Dan is funny & charming. Hoping there are a few new episodes by the time I get caught up!

Please come back. We are begging you.
How we miss the dulcet tones of the swarthy writer Dan and the stylistic musings of the artsy-fartsy (well maybe the dogs are fartsy) supreme illustrator Nik. It has been a hard year without being able to listen to either of you on our long runs. Its not so much the running advice I miss, it is the dialogue of freinds. To anyone who runs across these archives listen to them all sparingly, because the magic runs out before you know it. Excellent work on the mojo loco episode. PLease come back soon, at least with quarterly updates. THANK YOU

IMO the most enjoyable running podcast - EVER!
This is a really enjoyable podcast. Always entertaining. Very nice and appropriate songs interspersed with pleasant chitchat and useful information for a newbie runner like me. A joy to listen to during long runs.
P.S. If anyone wants to hear their name mentioned on every other podcast, just give it a 1 star review and you will be immortalised in podcast history. Remember TJRunner?

Four Feet Stunning
How can you not enjoy a podcast by a couple who obviously enjoy each other so much. The hosts Nik & Dan are smart, quick witted and always fun to listen to. Every episode has something for everyone. You get insights from both an experienced runner, Nik, as well someone new to the running experience, Dan. Together they make for a heaping pot of podcast goodness, so be sure to hit that subscribe button now!

A podcast that keeps me smiling
This is a great podcast. I listen while running and feel like I'm out on a run with two friends. Nik and Dan are both so personable and funny! As I run at the park I'm sure the people I pass are wondering what the deal is with the crazy lady running, grinning, and laughing like a loon.
I'm only on episode 32 but wanted to say keep up the great work!

inspirational
nik and dan are funny, funky, and urbane. their repartee is a pleasure to follow, and dan is an inspiration to a beginning runner like me (an out-of-shape wife and mom trying to build up some miles). their two charming dogs occasionally make cameo appearances, they grapple with real day-to-day challenges, and the music is FANTASTIC. what more could you ask for in a podcast? nothing.

Nik and Dan are GREAT!!!!!
Nik and Dan are super! They are extremely entertaining and full of excellent humor. This show to me is more like 6 feet running because they are the PERFECT running companions. I would rank them as a tie for best podcast ou there with Steve Runner and Phedippidations. All I could ask for now, would be a crossover episode where Nik, Dan, and Steve ALL go out for a run together (plus you can take Stanley and Myrna too).
Keep up the great work you 2 and if you ever make it to central Florida let me know!

The BEST Running Podcast
Honestly, this is probably the best produced running podcast I listen to. But more on the technical production later in this review. The real stars of this show are the two great personalities in Dan and Nik. Holy cow, are those to fun to spend an hour with. Also, this podcast provides something for everyone. Nik seems to be a relatively seasoned runner and her husband Dan is someone who is just breaking into the sport (or, should I say, lifestyle?). I regularly run listening to podcasts when running and this one actually harms my pace since I tend to find myself cracking in response to some funny observation Dan or Nik are making. THESE TWO ARE HILARIOUS. As for the technical production - they have landed on the perfect recipe for a podcast. They break up subjects with short musical interludes that are perfectly chosen. One of my pet peeves with "talking" podcasts are overly-long musical segments. Dan and Nik do a great job of finding that one perfect piece of music that relates to a recent conversation and cutting the music off before you start to wish that the "talking" could start up again. And the "talking" part of this podcast is absolutely entertaining and informative. Thanks for giving us a chance to spend an hour a week with you, Nik and Dan.

Like A Good Neighbor!
This is a great podcast. It's an eclectic style, mixing new and old music, spontaneous conversations, dog noises, an occasional human noise, reading of mail, and playing phone calls, with a two way conversation during their runs together. Listening is like having a couple of fun running partners with me when I go out on the long ones, and it really helps the miles go by, or in my case, the yards go by! Dan and Nik invite you into their lives in a unique kind of way, and that style really works because it is genuine with them. Give them at least three listens before you decide, kind of like you want to get to know your new neighbor pretty well before going somewhere with them. These people, you will find, make great neighbors, and good running partners. You won't be disappointed!

Two Partners to Have on your Side
These two partners in crime and love lift my day every time a new episode is released. Nik and Dan’s light heartedness and sometimes weak trash talking make a hard run easy. Thanks for one of the best running podcasts.

Let's Make it 45
I see you have had 44 reviews. Knowing that Nik prefers rounding to the nearest five I will take this opportunity to sing your praises and get you up to 45. Whether I’m on a run, getting in the mood for a run, or thinking about my next run, I enjoy listening to you guy riff off each other. Thanks for taking us into your running group. For this middle of the pack 40-something yours is one of my favorite run-casts. I also like hearing about your Fall River and South-Coast exploits. I know and love the area myself and would like to recommend the New Bedford Half and the Boston Run to Remember as Dan makes his way up to the 13.1 mile distances.

Friends on the Road
4 feet running is the best podcast for runners wanting companions on the miles. I love the banter and the chance to share your runs. If you want to feel as you're running with friends, listen to Nick and Dan.

Miles of fun in just 4 Feet
I just subscribed to this podcast from a mention on Running from the Reaper podcast. Dan & Nik completely cracked me up with episode 46 on my 6 mile run. Other runners on the path must've thought I was nuts running and laughing! I'm looking forward to future episodes

The music, the banter, the friendly east coast people.... what a great show - thank you Nik and Dan for all your effort in putting out a great show. My runs are better with you - keep on keeping on!

I'm really enjoying this audio blog. I'm catching up and right now I'm listen to them run thru the snow while it's 105 degrees outside! It gives me home that if they can run, I can run! Keep up the podcast!

Came here on the recommendation of TJ Runner
I read TJ's review and knew he/she was onto a good thing. This is a very funny engaging show that provides great company on long runs and insight into life in New England.

It's all about the love...
I held off on posting a review until I had listened to every episode. Having just finished Episode 40, I think I have discovered the secret to the charm of 4 Feet Running. It's not the race reports, or the witty banter, or the antics of the dogs, or the regular hacking on TJrunner... it's the obviously genuine affection between Nik and Dan. It's nice to listen to a married couple who lovingly support each other through the trials of career, family life, illness, pet ownership, and everything else life has to offer, AND running. Also, it is the only podcast where one of the creators can smell into the future - that alone is worth like three stars...

Down to earth and amusing!
I look forward to 4 Feet and it pops onto my playlist immediately after it downloads. Their conversations remind me of discussions I'd have with my wife if she liked running as much as I do, and I'm sure I've gotten several strange looks when I laugh out loud out on the trail. The humor can be a little off-color occasionally (turning the knobs!?!?), but I think that makes it even more real and down to earth. I find it refreshing to listen to their successes and failures, because everything out on the roads and trails isn't all fuzzie and peachie all of the time. This is one of several podcasts that contributes in a very positive way toward building a more inclusive running community.

Great Podcast
4 Feet Running exemplifies what is great about the podcast world. It is about a hobby I am interested in, it is well produced, and it stars two fun and interesting people with great rapport. Keep up the great work Nik and Dan!

Fun podcast!
Dan....it's nice to see that someone else coming in last or next to last! I have run several races this season and always brought up the rear, so to speak. But I can say I have persisted and gotten better, despite the humiliation. I have run a 10K, 10M and two half marathons this summer, and finishing is still such a rush for this newbie runner. Just keep at it and you will get better...don't give up!

Thanks for the entertainment!
You've told us how much you like reviews so I had to write one!! I truly enjoy your podcasts BUT I am a little tired of hearing about Nik's sickness. I like to listen to your banter and you do make me laugh but the last thing I want to hear in the middle of my run is how you DON'T want to run. Dan, good luck with the 10 in 10! Keep up the good work!

I'm a latecomer to the show, but I'm catching up! This is a great companion on those solo runs in the morning. Keep up the great work!

Love your podcast!
I heard a reference about your podcast while listening to one of Adam Tinkoff's and had to check it out. I've gone back and listened to almost all of your podcasts and have loved every minute of it. It's keeping me motivated to stay on target for the Disney marathon in 2009. Thanks so much for your weekly inspiration! Keep up the great work! Samantha

This podcast is fun! I love it. These two folks are easy to relate to, witty, and very insightful. The music interludes are great. Very well done! Keep it up! Thanks for miles of entertainment for fellow runners.

Great Companion on a Long Run
I just discovered 4 Feet Running a few weeks ago and have added it to my subscription list. Nik and Dan's chitchat is a great companion when on a solo long run.

Worst Podcast EVER....
while trying to be serious when running! Really, this is an amazingly funny podcast and it gets me through my long runs. It's honestly great to see two people share their running experiences together. Keep up the great work.
And please...no more playing Jungle Love.

Like listening to old friends
I love this podcast! I just started listening in mid-February, and I'm the kind of person who has to start from Podcast #1 and just play catch-up until I get to the most recent show. So now that I'm all the way up to #13, I think I have a really good feel for Nik and Dan's style. I love how we learn just a little more about them as people in each show: when their first date was, when Dan first publicly referred to Nik as his girlfriend, what kind of candies they each like, etc. Sure, there's a fair amount of talk about running, which is how I found the podcast (searching for running), but what really keeps me coming back is these two really cool people who obviously are best friends and are very much in love after many years. Reminds me of my own marriage. I wish I lived in Fall River so I could hang out with Nik and Dan. Keep it up, you two!

Great podcast!!!
I must respectfully disagree with the reviewer who found this podcast boring. This podcast is delightful, down to earth and funny! I listen to them on my runs and find myself laughing out loud.
Plus, any podcast which opens with the Burgermeister Meisterburger is most definitely a class act---and NOT boring! Keep it up.

Fun!
This is an awesome podcast. Nik & Dan are really down to earth & it is fun to listen to their banter as they run. It definitely keeps me entertained during my long runs. Nik & Dan - I put you right up there with Steve Runner!

Delightful!!
Wonderful podcast to take on runs of any length. Nik and Dan have a wonderful rapport with each other and their conversations are intelligent yet entertaining. I love the underlying sweetness between these two that makes their comments funny but never at the expense of anyone's feelings's. Keep 'em coming!

Real People Run Too
I really enjoy this podcast for one simple reason -- it is just normal people trying to fit running into their normal lives. Hectic work schedules, illness and household chores are all things that can keep us from exercise, but Nik and Dan continue to not only run, but to share it with us. I find the tangents interesting as well; art history, Portuguese cuisine and dog training are all topics covered humorously in this excellent podcast.

Good company, great pair!...
Fabulous concept! Record a podcast while RUNNING! These two make it "sound" sooo easy... but I am sure that it is NOT! The musical selections that are intermittently mixed within the 'cast are quite entertaining!
Bottomline.... not a lot of hooooplah on the science-y jargon of running.... cuz frankly WHO NEEDS IT? If you want to "get the 'secret' of how to run faster, better races" ... then listen to each and every podcast... for EACH and EVERY run that you do....and REPEAT it often! That's the KEY...
Put the time in... and give a listen to this great pair, Nik and Dan!

Great running partners!
I've been listening for three weeks and I'm hooked. These guys are fun to listen to, and they are really funny. I'm heading back and starting at Episode 1. I am training for the Charlottesville Marathon on April 19 and im looking foward to listening all along the way.

Thanks for the podcast
I love this podcast. I just finished the C25K program and I am now training for my first half marathon. Laughing to you guys throughout my run makes it go by faster. Keep it up.

Boring
This was the worst podcast I have listened to thus far. The banter of two people that know little about running was not enjoyable to me. Perhaps if I knew them personally it would be humorous, but instead it makes me feel like I am eavesdropping on a boring conversation. I tried 3 episodes, then gave it up.

Great Stuff
If you're looking for a smile and a laugh durning those tough miles this podcast is a must. I look forward to the Nik and Dan each week.

Listen once and you'll be hooked
Nik and Dan are great! They do an excellent job of balancing running/training info with stories about their personal life. It is nice to hear from runners who have real jobs and real lives outside of running. I like to listen while running...I find it inspiring to hear others run while I'm running...keeps me going. Keep the podcasts coming!

Don't need to be a runner to enjoy
You do not need to be a runner to enjoy Nik and Dan's podcast although don't be surprised if you get the urge to start after listening to them. I don't know what I enjoy more, the observations and conversations during the run or the after run banter.
