This is our first in person interview podcast, I was a little nervous going into it, but was super grateful that my good friend Adam was willing to sit down with me for an hour, Adam has been in my life for about 2 1/half years now Ive grown to love him dearly as we've shared many an hour commiserating and getting deep on issues mostly around navigating the highs and the lows of life and creative angst. in this episode Adam shares of his life's journey we cover subjects like world travel, relationships, family, God, how Covid impacted his life, and much more. In this week’s episode Jobie and Abigail cover topics from Jobie’s broken back to religion and sex. They revisit Jobie’s story and how he ended up living in North America after visiting for Christmas over 30 years ago, never to return to the UK. Jobie shares his experience of his first heartbreak in relationship and exposure to the Christian phenomena of the ‘Toronto blessing’ where Jobie and Abigail’s paths crossed to the first time as young adults. They discuss the impact of the religious experience and how it shaped them.

In this weeks episode, Jobie and Abigail talk about surrender and the concept of fear being trapped excitement. How excitement can be masked by anxiety and fear of the unknown. They refer to Chris Williamson recent podcast #925 with Joe Hudson about being kinder to yourself, breaking cycles of negative inner dialogue and transmuting fear.

In this episode Abigail continues to interview Jobie about his teenage years in the UK and how it shaped his work ethic and formed him as a person. These stories lead to him divulging details about his various near death experiences which include chain sawing through his leg, rupturing his spleen, being chewed up by farm machinery amongst other grizzly tails which revealed a death wish that he carried for many decades. They discuss mortality and how the desire to live is stronger with the presence of children in their lives.

In this episode Jobie and Abigail discuss the challenges of raising teenagers and share their thoughts on the smash hit ‘Adolescence’ as well as other impactful movies that have helped in creating discussions with their teens about the challenges of navigating relationships and era of technology we are in.

In this episode Jobie and Abigail reflect on the madness of lockdown and discuss at what point they had an awakening to what was really going on during that time and even before. They talk through the impact it had on friendships and how they have rebuilt their lives since, the positive impact of the Canadian trucker convoy and what a turning point that was in Canada. They share their gratitude on how different they are because of these experiences and that they have no regrets about not doing their part in compliance. This subject is triggering, but we feel it's important to remember and talk freely about this collective trauma we all experienced; how can we heal and learn unless we open up share process and learn?

Jobie and Abigail connect while Jobie is on an adventure in Mexico, they compare notes on life in Canada vs Mexico and cover topics from why so many people are leaving Canada and choosing to go South as well as the allure of wealth. They discuss documentaries on the untimely death of famous musicians from Amy Winehouse to Avicii.

In Part 2 of ‘Life in the Venezuelan jungle’ Jobie describes a close in counter with dangerous gold prospectors, how the Yanomami people hunt at night when facing the dangers and challenges of the jungle predators and we talk about why he hasn’t gone back in spite of the impact it made on his life. Jobie and Abigail move on to touch on the subject of parenting and how much that responsibility affects what passions we pursue in life when there is more to take into consideration than our own desires.
