A total winner
If you are, were, or have a teenage girl, this podcast is for you. And since I’m none of the above and I absolutely love it, I guess I’m proof that it’s for the rest of you, too!
The mother-daughter duo of Marta and Madeline discuss books, movies, and TV shows while examining how their responses to each may vary based on their respective ages, dissecting how life experience and cultural history contribute to personal taste. Warm, intelligent, and very funny, the love and trust between them is so bedrock-deep that the mutual respect in their give-and-take is entirely unconscious and instinctive.
Also worth noting: parents of queer kids and queer kids themselves will get a lot out of this — the way Madeline’s not-straightness is sometimes a relevant factor in these discussions is a breath of fresh air. I’m in Marta’s generation, and I’m struck again and again while listening what a different world Madeline is growing up in than the one I did — and also how much remains the same across the decades.
Moving, funny, and inspiring, these two smart women are great fun to listen to. Check them out!

Delightful
This mother and daughter may have wildly diverging views on cultural touchstones, but they share an intelligence and wit that makes them a fantastic pair of hosts. Can’t wait to see what they review next.
