It's Showtime with the Titusville Playhouse!
Join us on 321 Lift Off when we speak with Steven Heron, the Executive and Artistic Director of the Titusville Playhouse. Titusville Playhouse, lnc. was established on August 29, 1965. after putting on shows in a 'garage playhouse setting, an old church building on Dummit Avenue, was purchased using borrowed money and some savings. The building was renovated to create a 92-seat theatre that opened on May 12, 1972, and produces five shows per season. Listen as Mr. Heron discusses the upcoming shows, we can see this upcoming show season and provides an update on the three new performance venues on the properties purchased by the Playhouse in 2021.

The building, once home to Titusville Hardware, is one of the city’s oldest, dating back to 1915. Today, Playalinda’s Hardware Store location serves as a downtown destination for small-batch beers and warm, small-town charm. Just up the road, Playalinda’s Brix Project location has made a name for itself as a hip hub where a constantly evolving menu, fresh-brewed beer, and craft cocktails take center stage. Harry T. & Harriette V. Moore Memorial Park and Museum in Mims
Join us on 321 Lift Off for a conversation about the Harry and Harriet Moore Museum located in Mims on Florida’s Space Coast Harry T. Moore and his wife, Harriette, were educators by profession. They lived in Mims, Florida, a small citrus town near Orlando, and taught in segregated public schools in and around Brevard County from 1925 to 1946. The Moore’s were the first civil rights activists of the modern civil rights era in the State of Florida. Harry organized the first Brevard County Branch of the NAACP in 1934 and became President of the Florida Conference of NAACP branches in 1941. On Christmas night in 1951, after the Moore family celebrated Christmas and the couple’s 25th wedding anniversary, a bomb exploded under the bedroom of Harry T. and Harriette V. Moore’s home in Mims. Mr. Moore died in the blast, while Mrs. Moore died nine days later. Listen and watch as we learn more about the Moore's and the Harry and Harriet Moore Museum, which includes a replica of the home positioned on the original home site to look the same way it did on that tragic day of the bombing.
