Because it was my first.
Years ago, a good friend of mine gifted me Deepak Chopra's The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success. As with all important messages, it came at just the right time for me and helped me navigate a challenging time in my life.
This was over 20 years ago, and since then I continue to have a newfound appreciation for the laws. Nowadays, terms like Karma (cause and effect) and Dharma (purpose in life) are more mainstream and relatable. A few takeaways from the remaining five:
Law of Pure Potentiality
You access this field through meditation, silence, non-judgement & appreciation of nature. The beauty is that, once accessed, you can always return to it.
The Law of Giving
The more we are involved in the circulation of the universe's energy, the more of it we will receive back. This not only applies to money, but also love & friendship.
The Law of Least Effort
When our actions are motivated by love, not the desires of the ego, we generate excess energy that can be used to create anything we want.
The Law of Intention and Desire
From a place of receptive stillness, we can depend on the infinite organizing power of the universe to make it manifest. We 'let the universe handle the details'.
The Law of Detachment
Without detachment we are prisoners of helplessness, hopelessness, mundane needs, trivial concerns, quiet desperation, and seriousness. With detachment, we are free to witness the perfect solutions that spontaneously emerge from chaos.
You Are Powerful!
You are not powerless. Keep in mind that the same laws that nature uses to create a forest, galaxy, star & human body, can also bring about the fulfillment of your deepest desires.
I invite you to recall a book that affected you deeply or was just the right read for you at a moment in need. Everything for a reason. Like most classics, the content resonates more deeply with each subsequent read.
