From kicking ass to seeing ass (involuntarily), I share several stories from my experience as the only girl on my hockey team from ages 11-14. In hindsight, it was a huge challenge but was absolutely worth it. At the time, I just wanted to have fun playing full-contact hockey and to get a group of pre-teen boys to like me, even though I was invading their league. And somehow, I did both.

I'm Nina, and I used to be sad. I've tried a lot of things to make myself happier. Writing poetry about crying on my math test. Going to therapy. Spending weeks in the woods. Playing contact sports like hockey... and quidditch.

Some of these worked, and some didn't. But now, I'm happier than I've been in a long time, in spite of my increasing anxiety about the state of the world. Join me as I talk about the adjustments I made in my everyday life to get to where I am today. My hope for the podcast is that it will be a good resource for you, but mostly, I want listening to make you happier.
