Great companion for a great show but badly executed
This podcast was a great idea as a companion of the show but it was badly executed. The British host speaks so fast that is hard to understand what she is saying. The interviews are great but is hard to enjoy a podcast when you can understand one of the hosts.

Great pod, but s-l-o-w down!
This is an excellent podcast and deserves five stars. Unfortunately, I had to remove a star because Dr Aderin-Pocock talks at 1.3x speed! She is difficult to understand at best and a distraction to the discussion at worst. I hope before next season someone will work with her on cadence and speaking slower. It’s the only blemish on an otherwise 5* podcast

Great job
Very much enjoying all the interviews and getting the science explained and meeting the cast. Great job.

British host speaks at 3x normal speed
Impossible to listen when one of the hosts speaks so quickly. It’s completely bizarre.

Too late
Why drop all the episodes at once and then have a weekly companion podcast? I had to find the answers I was looking for weeks ago from other sources.

What about
the rest of the season?

Way too,late
While the podcast is good, like some others I finished the season several weeks ago and would really have liked this discussion closer to the airing of the episodes. There are so many complicated issues and human stories, it would have been more helpful then.

Ep 3 gives credibility to crackpot UAP theories
I had to stop listening when on Ep 3 they started talking about crackpot conspiracy theories like UAP and the nonsens the UFO community is trying to introduce as something with some credibility. I do have to say that the first two episodes were pretty good. It was fun to learn about the cultural revolution in China from a different perspective and some of the science from a real particle physicist. However I had to stop listening from Ep 3.

Good podcast
But I don’t understand why it wasn’t explained that the story of little red riding hood is called a fictional story and is used for entertainment purposes. So how would those aliens feel about actors? Would they be the worst form of liars? It should have been explained by Mike Evans — he should have requested that the alien look up the meaning of the word fiction. Could have been explained better and should have been addressed in the podcast. And if that didn’t work, he should have told them to visit JK Rowling just like they were going to find the wolf and talk to him

Pronunciation
I empathize with the difficulty of English speakers pronouncing pin yin. But worth it for the hosts to take the time to learn the right way in this audio format. Otherwise, love the books and Netflix show and excited to hear more

Intergalactic threats?
In Episode 3 of this podcast, the hosts asks whether the former CIA agent whether the CIA is concerned with “intergalactic” threats to the earth. Do the hosts (and the guest) understand the difference between “intergalactic” and “interstellar?”

not a bad podcast…
… but i finished the series over a week ago and you’re only up to episode three.
Not happy with update.
Rename the pod
I had no idea this was the Netflix review with the title of the podcasts. I thought it was the book or some class. Great with Jason as usual, but I think a lot of people don’t know this is for Netflix. I only found it on my fourth search and read a little deeper.

Quite interesting, but questionable hosts
In the first episode, the segment with Woo, Weiss, and Benioff was great, as was the interview with a survivor of the cultural revolution. I almost stopped listening whenever one of the hosts tried unsuccessfully to pronounce Ye Wenjie’s name. It’s not “Yay Whingy” or “Yeee Win-jeee”. Especially embarrassing to get it wrong with a Chinese interviewee. Dr. Maggie could dial down the clueless enthusiasm a few notches - Ye Wenjie’s father was not “literally thrown under the bus”, and is “showrunner” really such an unfamiliar term? Hopefully this aspect improves amongst what looks like a good podcast otherwise.

Solid- but Dr. Popcock….
Hope we get into details and explain the physics of the story in layman’s terms. Annoying when Dr. Popcock says regarding the fatal beating that he was “literally thrown under the bus “…which of course he wasn’t. She also says Einstein was responsible for helping “make the nuclear bomb..”. Makes me question her veracity going forward.

Why would an alien civilization and foe allow any efforts to progress at all if they had the technological advancement, superiority, and capability to stop them?

Jason is my nerd Yoda
I pretty much watch and read anything Jason recommends ever since X Ray Vision. This show is amazing so far and I’m very thankful to have two excellent hosts hold my hand through the more complicated scientific aspects of this story and plot. So much to unpack and dive into! My dog walks just got a lot more interesting.

Concepcion does it again. Excellent way to follow along with the show.
