So glad you’re back!
I’m so glad y’all are back! I appreciate the humorous and thoughtful way you both address some hard topics related to growing up in the IFB/fundamentalism and love your overall report and vibe. You demonstrate beautifully how to tackle serious issues without taking yourselves seriously.

Baby names!!!
You guys are AMAZING and I have listened to EVERY episode!!! Y’all are much younger than I, but as a former fundy myself and an almost “crowny” (thank goodness God protected me from that) but I ended up at TTU with JC lol so not much better LOL, I LOVE y’all and I’m so thankful for your podcast! I too think Sam has the BEST laugh ever! My husband and I were never able to have children so I would be glad to offer our baby names for y’all to use should you want! For boys we were going to use: Atticus Gerret Oden Oliver For girls we were going to use: Sidalee Jo Saphira Ann I am so excited that y’all are having a baby and that it will get the opportunity to grow up in the freedom of Christ instead of the chains of fundamentalism and legalism! Praise the Lord for that freedom!!! God bless and keep up the good work! -Sheena Davis

Favorite podcast!
Awesome podcast! I would definitely recommend it. I love the history behind each subject you talk about. Please please keep it up.

So relatable
Sam and I would definitely be friends if we lived closer! Edit to add: David, I was raised ifb therefore don’t have any friends of the opposite gender. Maybe you could be friends with my husband. Just kidding, you both are great and I’m sure I would be friends with you both! 😂😂

Relatable
Sam and I would definitely be friends if we lived close to each other lol! I really enjoy how well-rounded you guys are in talking about your personally experiences in the IFB church. You talk about the ugly but also the some of the good things that has come out of the IFB. If I had to pick just one episode to be my favorite it would be W is for Woman Part 1 & 2! Love you guys! Soli De Gloria :)

Fun!
I love the chemistry this married couple brings to the show each week. I find myself smiling and laughing throughout the episodes. Keep it up!

Love it.
Coming from a PBI grad… Of all the RFP Fam podcasts, this one is my favorite. I like the fun way they present the issues of the IFB. David and Sam’s chemistry together makes the show enjoyable to listen to. I like the way they talk about the history of each subject with the pros, cons, and “prons”.

So relatable!
I found this podcast when Sam and David filled in for the RFP and was instantly hooked! I am pretty sure Sam and I grew up in the same house 😂 I laughed out loud multiple times with the Halloween episode because I for sure stayed awake the night before Halloween terrified my cat would be catnapped to be used in a sacrifice and we “for heckin’ sure” turned all the lights, put blankets up in the basement windows (they were the pastel scratchy ones with satin edges), and ate popcorn and pizza while watching Sheffey!!! I have for sure read the Halloween Chick Tract, too 🎃 🐈‍⬛ The Music and USA episodes have to be my all time favorites but every episode is completely relatable! My husband and I left the IFB movement nearly 10 years ago and we still are still processing things (our families are still both predominantly IFB). I really like that David and Sam are charitable and can see some of the positives from their upbringing. The podcast is mostly lighthearted which is a refreshing change to some other IFB-related podcasts that can feel really heavy at times. P.S. 1) My mom’s gateway drug into CCM is definitely Chris Rice and Fernando Oretega. 2) I have family members who work at Camp CoBeAc. 3) My dad is the song leader at his church and makes sure to pick “The Old Fashioned Way” when we visit 😂

That’s for heckin’ sure
This is one of my favorite podcasts. Sam and David are hilarious, and I love that they both came from different veins of the IFB so there’s a little something for all of us recovering fundies. ;) Always bring it to how we can apply what we’ve learned to our Christian lives in a practical, Biblical way too. I really do appreciate that they talk about the pros and cons of the IFB way of thinking, too.

One of my favorites
Sam and David are compelling and fun to listen to, but they address serious issues. They are a young married couple who grew up in the Independent Fundamental Baptist environment. They speak to that experience with grace and humor, but aren’t hesitant to call out the (many) ways that movement has departed from scriptural standards. A lot of this is “inside baseball” so it may go right over your head if you’ve never been around that world, but I’m sure that you’ll learn something and come away in a better mood regardless.

Very refreshing 💯
This podcast is a great take on all things IFB and how it really is in a lot of those type of churches! Sam and David really tackle a lot of the basics in a funny, (mostly) light-hearted way! It is very refreshing to hear about how I grew up in a way where it isn’t just a bashing of a “religious” view! Love it!

A is for Awesome
I have been listening to 26 Letters for quite a while and have been repping this amazing podcast with my 26 Letters shirt yet I haven't posted a review. S is for so sorry! 26 Letters is a fun podcast that I look forward to each week. I love how they take a letter to go over something from the IFB, and man oh man do they do it justice! If you were raised IFB like I was or if you are just a cool person, go ahead and binge every episode. It's worth it!

👍🏻👍🏻
Funny, educational, relatable and even quotable at times 😂 Love this series and hope there’s more in the works with Sam and David!

Am I the 100th??
These guys are great if you lived any part of the IFB. Humorous, open, and helpful in dealing with the wild world of the IFB.

Favorite Podcast Ever!
I figured I’d quick rate y’all so you wouldn’t hunt me down to break my legs. You will never know how much I look forward to updates! I feel like you get me. I appreciate your sweet attitudes and lack of bitterness. You always make me laugh and see a spark of hope for a normal, God-honoring life after legalism. The ‘G is for Guilt’ episode spoke to me on a soul level, because I’ve struggled so much with my assurance of salvation when I didn’t work up enough fruits of the Spirit. It was such a blessing to realize that the evidence of my relationship with Jesus isn’t something I have to work for. It’s a work He is doing on the inside. Please don’t stop at ‘Z.’ I wouldn’t mind if you started back at ‘A.’ 😄

Help in understanding my wife.
I grew up in small rural southern baptist churches while my wife was raised in IFB churches. Ever since we started dating we would compare our church related experiences. When she told me some of the things she had heard taught or preached I thought it seamed strange, but I surely it was just one visiting preacher or tent revival sermon. When we got married and found a “local, independent, fundamental, KJV Bible believing, Baptist Church” I realized it was a real thing. We are both listening and enjoying this podcast. It has helped her to see some of the things that she had always heard growing up in a different light.

Thank you! Thank you for every aspect of this episode! You both seemed really prepared and Biblical as you navigating this shameful part of American Christian history. One of my favorite episodes so far but really enjoy all you do 🙏🏼

Great job
Love your podcast. You two always make me chuckle. And I don’t chuckle a lot😊😊 As most IBF people I can relate to most of what you say. Thanks for all the time you put into these episodes .

Very enjoyable listen
David and Sam are such a relatable couple! Listening to them has brought so many smiles because they are light-hearted and they have a great dynamic. I have been able to look back to things that have bothered me for years and yet could not put a name/word to them, but with a lighter spirit. Thank you for what you do!

Look forward to it.
I always know some story is going to bring a relatable smile to my face.

Informative and Funny
These guys always make me smile as they point out, in a light-hearted way, the strengths and weaknesses of the movement they left (as I did as well).

Give it a listen!
Whether you’re a current or former IFB member, or you’re simply looking for insight into that world, this podcast is for you! David and Sam do a fantastic job of explaining the intricacies and idiosyncrasies of the IFB movement in a funny but informative way. Their chemistry as hosts is obvious, and it’s clear they put a lot of work into each episode.

Soooo Good!
I am loving the 26 Letters Podcast! This husband-and-wife duo are hilarious and so entertaining! Coming up in an IFB church all my life, I readily identify with their stories. Stories with serious implications but shared with charming and witty husband wife banter! This morning I burst into laughter thinking about sheep with nerdy glasses watching in horror as the shepherd breaks another sheep’s leg! Great podcast! Cannot wait for the next episode!

Hilarious and Relatable
If you grew up IFB-this is the podcast for you. Deconstructed in a respectful younger in cheek manner, the hosts David and Sam graciously delve into the history and often legalistic traditions of the Fundy Baptist movement.

These guys got it right
So great full to Sam and David for bringing light hearted vibes to a typically dark conversation. I look forward to your new episodes every single Friday.

A different take
This is a very interesting podcast because it has a different take, the purpose is not to bash a “culture” nor to praise the man-made traditions of religion, but instead to take a look into how those traditions influenced Sam and David, and it connects to others from the IFB. I love it!

A Great Listen
My husband and I both enjoy this podcast. Brings back lots of IFB memories from our childhoods and lots of laughs. The podcast is a gracious and honest take on some the of issues within IFB circles and seasoned with the good that they - and probably the listener! - have experienced in it as well. They always provide some good food for thought and some interesting historical tidbits.

Funny alphabetical informative look inside the IFB
I have really been enjoying this podcast. I love the way Sam and David have chosen to do this podcast using the letters of the alphabet. This podcast is fun and informative. No one could ever accuse the two of them of being bitter due to the genuine and kind way that they are presenting the information. As I listen to the two of them discuss all of these topics, I find myself nodding along in agreement. I feel like I am reminiscing with old friends who know exactly what my childhood was like. I love the relationship that Sam and David have with each other, I can tell that they love and respect each other. Since they are so happy and kind to each other it comes across in an enjoyable podcast to listen to. Keep up the great work! It's a helpful ministry even if it is not done in a church setting!

Refreshing to listen to!
I’m so enjoying this podcast! Sam and her husband have deep and meaningful conversations while keeping things lighthearted with their quirky humor. I encourage others to listen with an open mind and heart while challenging yourself to think through some of the norms we’ve been taught all our lives.

David and Sam work so great together!
I have been loving 26 Letters so far, the way David and Sam interact is so down to earth and entertaining. I didn’t grow up in the IFB culture but was involved another southern denomination and I can relate to a lot of the experiences and stories that they share. Can’t wait to hear what the rest of this alphabet is going to bring! Keep it up Sam and David!

Lighthearted listen
This podcast is great and offers a lighthearted look into IFB culture - the pros and cons of traditions that are done. I’m looking forward to future episodes!

Excited to see where this goes!
I follow around 80 podcasts. Out of those 80, around 50 of them are subjects around faith, spiritual life, church history, and theology. 26 letters strikes me differently than the any other podcast in my library. While it’s young and finding solid footing in terms of audio quality and production, it’s got passion and depth. The hosts do not feel over rehearsed and the questions/comments do not feel vetted. I will be watching the growth of this podcast with much interest. If you are a fan of “The Bible project” or “exploring my amazing Bible” I recommend trying out “26 letters”.

Good energy, introspective, humble
A lot of people like to think that they know the church culture in the south, this is a great look into one of the churches with the most definitive cultures, and the culture shock that comes with it.
