21st Century Solutions ... According to Kaylyn and Ramsey
21st Century Solutions ... According to Kaylyn and Ramsey
Kaylyn and Ramsey
So what’s gonna fix the 21st Century? According to a proud Millennial and a wizened Gen-Xer that’s a pretty complicated answer. Kaylyn and Ramsey are the Directors of Lending Partnerships for ezSolarLoan, a leading source of financing for residential solar energy, and funded by BankHere, a not-for-profit credit union personal banking platform. They talk both dollars and sense when it comes to addressing sustainability issues of our day. Kaylyn believes her generation has gotten a bad rap, and the clean-up from decades of excess have fallen to them. Ramsey believes that consolidation into basically Big Everything is a Big Problem, and that it's practically impossible to get the truth about what’s really going on, let alone get people to agree on things. They both believe that community-based solutions like installing solar and batteries on homes is how people can become producers and not just consumers. “21st Century Solutions … According to Kaylyn and Ramsey” is more than just a plug for solar lending or credit unions. It’s a glimpse into Kaylyn’s and Ramsey’s motivations and perspectives, and an invitation to help save the world.
Succeeding by Making Others Successful
Introducing ezSolarLoan's new Relationship Manager: Tyann Gausen!  Kaylyn and Ramsey chat with Tyann about what her role as Relationship Manager will look like, her professional background, and what she is most excited about coming up.  They hit on the idea that ezSolarLoan values communication between and among the financing team, the solar company and the homeowners ... and that a key to ezSolarLoan's success is helping others to succeed.  It's an exciting time at ezSolarLoan, as the newly designed system is up and running for the first handful of companies, and Kaylyn and Ramsey and Tyann talk about how that's going and what's coming next!     Music from Uppbeat (free for Creators!): https://uppbeat.io/t/soundroll/tropicana License code: 3EABE0MBPKFZDSGS

Affecting your Spheres of Influence
Can individual people really make a difference?  The world is such a big place and big issues just seem so ... big?!  Who can we hope to impact and how can we affect change?  Kaylyn and Ramsey talk about the concentric circles in our lives as Spheres of influence and contend that we make meaningful contributions in different ways at each level.  So take heart and take on the world one person, one family, one group of friends, one community and one marketplace at a time!     Music from Uppbeat (free for Creators!): https://uppbeat.io/t/soundroll/tropicana License code: 3EABE0MBPKFZDSGS

What's Your Thing?
What gets you out of bed, into a good mood, out of your funk, into your zone?  In a world that tells us what to do, what to buy, and increasingly what to think, what is YOUR thing?  Kaylyn and Ramsey believe that everyone needs a thing, something that inspires them, keeps them grounded, gives them purpose or at least a reason.  Is it a huge thing like a faith or a philosophy?  Or a mission thing like a guiding purpose?  A career thing?  Or a fun thing like a hobby?  Whatever your thing, it gives you focus, perspective, a constant, something to come back to.  Don’t have a thing?  Maybe its time to find one!   Music from Uppbeat (free for Creators!): https://uppbeat.io/t/soundroll/tropicana License code: 3EABE0MBPKFZDSGS

Go Outside and Play
Four words spoken by every parent in days past, but still right today?  Kaylyn and Ramsey think so! Fresh air, sunshine, exercise, made-up games with friends and siblings are still gems of childhood.  Kaylyn and Ramsey chat about their adventures last weekend and as kids in the woods where they each grew up.  Today we have mobile phones and GPS tracking, so does that give our kids more freedom or less?  Is it still safe and healthy to just shoo the kids out the door to go outside and play?  What safeguards do we place on them?  Join us for a light and breezy conversation about playing outside, goofing around and not getting into too much trouble in the neighbors' yards.     Music from Uppbeat (free for Creators!): https://uppbeat.io/t/soundroll/tropicana License code: 3EABE0MBPKFZDSGS

Meet your Solar United Neighbors
Kaylyn and Ramsey welcome special guest Ben Delman, Communications Director for Solar United Neighbors (SUN).  One of the benefits of ezSolarLoan is getting connected to SUN through an affiliate membership.  Ben describes SUN and their long history of building solar co-ops, organizing neighbors into collective purchasing, advocating for solar at state legislatures, and steering non-homeowners into community solar programs happening in their areas.  Kaylyn and Ramsey and Ben also look ahead at the future of residential solar and solar energy financing.  To learn more about SUN, visit their website at https://solarunitedneighbors.org.      Music from Uppbeat (free for Creators!): https://uppbeat.io/t/soundroll/tropicana License code: 3EABE0MBPKFZDSGS

Modern Moms and Families
Modern moms not only raise their kids but also work full time jobs, start and grow their own businesses and connect with their friends and family members.  After talking a couple weeks ago about father figures, Kaylyn and Ramsey balance the scales by talking about Modern Moms.  And not only that, but also reflect on how families today are made of many combinations of parents and other care-givers, and how kids are better off and better adjusted when surrounded by people who love them and raise them.  There's even a side conversation about side hustles - all those hobbies turned into businesses that people do to have some extra cash but mostly do to have some extra fun.       Music from Uppbeat (free for Creators!): https://uppbeat.io/t/soundroll/tropicana License code: 3EABE0MBPKFZDSGS

Online and IRL Community-Based Solutions
Whether they are online or in real life (IRL), communities are ideal jumping off points for 21st Century Solutions because the people within communities share common history, interests, place, culture, and/or other affinities.  Kaylyn and Ramsey consider what makes online and IRL communities work, and also what sometimes makes them toxic (and how to avoid that!).  One great example of a productive and valuable online community-based solution is EnergySage – a marketplace where anyone can learn about solar, consider their options, get multiple bids on systems from contractors, and explore their financing options (but naturally ezSolarLoan is the best, wink, wink).  Join us for a thoughtful conversation, an informative overview of EnergySage, and plenty of distractions, mostly about cats.   https://www.energysage.com/       Music from Uppbeat (free for Creators!): https://uppbeat.io/t/soundroll/tropicana License code: 3EABE0MBPKFZDSGS

Father Figures Past ... and Present?
Father’s Day is coming up.  How has the role of ‘father’ changed over the years? Today Kaylyn and Ramsey add a third generation to the mix … Ramsey’s dad, Joel Zimmerman.  Historically, fathers have had the role of family authority and provider.  Are fathers still considered an authority? Or parents, more broadly speaking? Who else are authorities these days, and do we still regard them as “father figures”?  Do we trust the authorities? And if not, why don’t we, and what would it take to get back to a place where trust is earned and given?  Join Ramsey and Kaylyn and Joel as they talk about the olden days growing up in Chicago and the current days and many days in between.     Music from Uppbeat (free for Creators!): https://uppbeat.io/t/soundroll/tropicana License code: 3EABE0MBPKFZDSGS
