This week's movie is about how love can overcome any obstacle, even the obstacle of two people probably just not being right for one another. Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui tells the story of Manu, a cishet bodybuilder who falls, first passionately and then reluctantly, in love with a transgender woman. Despite having some problematic--and at times down right harmful--messaging, this film certainly gives us a lot to unpack. It stars Vaani Kapoor and Ayushmann Khurrana, and was directed by Abhishek Kapoor. It was written by Supratik Sen and Tushar Paranjape, based on a story by Simran Sahni. Like what you're hearing?
