Bite-sized Wisdom from Literary Gems
Michael Bungay Stanier's "2 Pages" podcast is a literary treasure trove for busy professionals. The episode featuring Frankie Thorogood reading from Derren Brown's "Tricks of the Mind" was particularly enlightening. Thorogood's insights on reshaping self-image and overcoming mental limitations resonated deeply. I was struck by his candid reflections on balancing ambition with fulfillment in entrepreneurship. Stanier's skillful interviewing draws out profound insights from seemingly simple passages. Whether you're a bookworm or a time-strapped executive, this podcast offers a unique way to glean wisdom from influential books. Each episode feels like a mini-masterclass in life and leadership.

Delightful premise and execution!
I’m enjoying this format, which simultaneously introduces me to new individuals (or shows me a different take on those I may already be aware of) and brings in thinkers that have inspired them. It’s great on a morning walk to get ideas stirred up before taking on the day. I really trimmed back my podcast listening in the last year - this one has stayed on my short list.

The Dilemmas of a CEO
Intriguing definition of management that resonates. Also, either you have everybody on board for culture or you have nobody. Most intriguing in this episode is how to build capacity for failure especially within your leadership team. As a coach and CEO I see you have to show them and Be the vulnerability-not tell. Certainty and confidence are the status quo- The willingness to say "I don't know and I am willing to be open" to create dialogue around what makes a great culture. This is what can draw you in to deeper understanding of what matters. I get the feeling that being more human is a process.
