Happy New Year, love this podcast
I just want to thank you guys for making this podcast, you guys do amazing work and it’s always interesting to learn from you and your guests. I really appreciate this New Years episode and how you translated for us. My Yae passed away some years ago and I never got to have these conversations with her as well as because of the language barrier. So thank you, I feel more confident observing Khmer New Year now

I dont listen all the time, but when I do, these girls never cease to amaze me. What I enjoy most is how they talk about subjects that really do need to be discussed about more, things that actually matter

The voices we never had in our childhood
I’m a second-generation filipino American born and raised in Hawaii and I am so glad that we have representation in the Southeast Asian and Pacific Islander community! Growing up, we never had representation from this community. It’s so inspiring to hear from so many different voices from this community, including regular family people who does great things locally all the way to celebrities! Love the variety and the real stories we can all relate to growing up with immigrants parents! Keep it up Jasmine and Melly:)

Feels like home
As a 2nd generation who's lived in both the US and Cambodia, this podcast feels like home as it explores both sides of the Khmerican identity. This podcast is a safe community of khmericans to come together to feel seen, heard, and included. Such a wonderful platform to be connected and reconnected to our roots and to others.

5 star girls with 5 star professionalism
I love how these girls have educational facts in between questions. Very professional and a breath of fresh air the next generation to learn about our culture as well as listening to the stories of people of the Khmer diaspora as well as people from all walks of life. I would highly recommend to anyone who loves listening to podcasts with important topics and emotional stories.

Representation and advocacy for the Khmerican community
As a daughter of Khmer Rouge survivors myself, the 2 Khmerican Sisters podcast serves as a great reminder that it is our responsibility to continue raising awareness about everything our families went through since it is unfortunately not common knowledge. Whether you’re Cambodian or not, you definitely want to take a listen!

Raw Stories Told Beautifully
I listened to the June 26th episode where Mellissa and Jasmine assisted their mother and grandmother in telling their stories of oppression, family separation, fleeing to Thailand, and eventually immigrating to the US as a result of the Khmer Rouge assent to power in Cambodia. The telling is raw because listeners get to hear Khmer being spoken and then translated. I usually listen to podcasts at 2x but opted to slow this one down to really listen to the spoken Khmer and translations. I especially enjoyed hearing the laughter of their mother and grandmother as they recounted small glimpses of humor amidst a very difficult and dark time. This podcast increased my awareness of Cambodian history and struggles in a way that allowed me to connect to the interviewees. Keep it up!

Personal and Informative
2 Khmerican Sisters podcast has a beautiful blend of personal stories and historical/current information and commentary. I listend to the episode where the hosts interview their mother and grandmother's refugee experiences. It was both a compelling history lesson and an intimate lens into a family's story. I will definitely be listening to more of this important podcast!
