In this episode, I talk with Percy "Fonksta" Holland. He grew up in the hoods of Fort Worth Texas. He tried being a community leader through radio/music. When that didn't work, he took a different approach at the age of 45. He went against the grain and became the cop he wanted to see. He explains that what he thought a cop is, wasn't anything like the narrative told him growing up. A great episode, take a listen. In this episode of the podcast, I speak with someone I have never met in person, but consider him a friend. His name is Andrew Morrow, Gamertag "Dayman" in CS:GO. LOL, yes, you read that right. We became friends through video games. It is just another platform for me to practice my community policing to break down barriers. What drew my attention to Dayman, he is/was very anti-police. We discuss how he claimed I helped him change that opinion. He goes on to talk about a mental health crisis situation that I was able to help him with, despite the fact we only knew each other for a short time (1 month). This brings up the question, can community policing be done city to city? State to State? This may be a new concept under development after having this wonderful discussion. Fun talk for sure, check it out. Support the show (https://www.paypal.com/donate?hosted_button_id=HA5JBLQMNH2SC)

In this episode of the podcast, I talk with Aaron Dyson. He was wrongly convicted, given a 50-year sentence. On his last appeal, he got out after serving 24 years. It's a story that you only hear in the movies. This is by far my favorite episode I have done. Check it out and I hope you enjoy it. He is a retired Veterinarian (49 years), he is a world traveler, and he trains police/military in defensive tactics. On this episode of the podcast, I talk with Kerry-Ann Astree from a non-profit organization called Married 2 The Badge. (WWW.Married2theBadge.com). Her group saw there are a ton of outreach programs for first responders, but the spouses were overlooked. She and some other first responder spouses have created a group designed to mentor new and old spouses of first responders. It is a unique view into the life of a spouse of a first responder, the trials and tribulations they face. This was a great episode and I hope you enjoy. On this episode of the podcast, I have Dr. Johnny Nhan. He is a professor at Texas Christian University in the field of Criminal Justice/Criminology. He is more than that, he is a researcher with a focus on policing. He took that a step further by stepping over that divide of academia and policing by becoming a full-fledged police officer himself. We discuss the stigma attached to the title of police officer vs FBI Agent. We bring up a radical idea to increase attracting "nerds" to law enforcement. It was a great conversation that I think will get people talking about new ways to do an old job. I hope you enjoySupport the show (https://www.paypal.com/donate?hosted_button_id=HA5JBLQMNH2SC)
