Knowledge of D&D is not at all required to enjoy the story these two gentlemen are creating. Appropriately creepy and unceasingly funny, this is a fantastic journey unfolding with the backdrop of an engaging world (with which I was completely unfamiliar when I started). The emphasis is on action and the witty exchanges of seasoned DM and player. You will cheer for the rolls without getting bogged down with endless rule debates. Will you be entertained by two great friends (sometimes 3) and storytellers? Indeed! *inspiration*

Both the Player and DM are wonderfully role-play-heavy, making for a game that is easy to follow along just by listening, and when combat does occur they are both very good at describing everything to set the scene in your mind. Despite having only two people in the ‘room’, there are plenty of engaging inter-character interactions and witty repartee. There’s also a good hefty dose of puns and dad humor! So if you’re looking for a podcast that feels like hanging out with your friends, give ‘1on1 RPG’ a try! They have the smallest small talk.

I don't know if there are any other rpg podcasts out there with a GM and a single player, but this is certainly the only one I've ever heard of. And what an interesting format! It's almost more like a choose-your-own-adventure. It also helps that both of the hosts are extremely funny. Vlad the Inhaler is worth the price of admission alone. This is a great podcast and I hope it continues for a long time!
