Keeping History Alive
Bravo to the team that researched, created, and presented this fantastic series about the truth Georgia tried to hide.

Insightful & Timely
Every Georgian should listen to this podcast! As a metro Atlanta native, I’ve always heard not to go to Forsyth County as a Black person, but never knew the background or history. This was so clearly explained and researched. I loved this storytelling from the descendants and letters as well as court documents and news clippings that lay out the evidence for the 1912 expulsion and myth of Lake Lanier. The Atlanta History Center and Rose Scott are the best ❤️ This truly should be taught as part of GA History - but never was in my 8th grade class!

Incredible piece of history
A story well told - can’t believe I didn’t know about Forsyth County.. or the real story behind Lake Lanier.

This should be required listening for Georgians
I am so thankful for the work WABE and Atlanta History Center put into this podcast. I grew up in Georgia, but this was never mentioned in my public school history classes. It’s painful to learn what these families experienced at the hands of their neighbors, but incredibly valuable to hear their stories and how it has impacted their descendants for generations to come. Learning history helps us to be better. Thank you!

An incredible story well told
Atlanta History Center does a spectacular job in presenting this painful story of racial expulsion in Forsyth County Georgia in 1912. The descendants of those who were expelled are featured and they tell powerful stories.
