1 Peter talks through suffering and not to be surprised when things come our way because the spirit and glory of God RESTS on us (ie. In the middle of suffering, God’s caring spirit is shown more than ever) and then Peter gives 3 different types of suffering and why.

1. Consequences – Bad decisions have bad results

2. Persecution – Good decisions may have tough results

3. Circumstances – A broken world affects us

In the midst of suffering, we can feel God’s presence even more. He cares for us, and sometimes we will not know how much until we are in the midst of painful times.
