Roast Paradise, famed for their succulent char siew and crisp roasted pork opened their first stall at Old Airport Road Hawker Centre in 2016.
The journey to get there, however, was saddled with challenges since its opening. Kai Koh and Randall Gan were involved in the nightlife industry before taking on the challenge of running a hawker stall.
From having no experience in the industry, to Kai suffering a stroke that caused one eye to be partially blind, the duo managed to survive and recently opened their second stall in Senkang.
Adrian Abraham speaks to Kai Koh, co-owner of Roast Paradise about how constructive criticism helped the business thrive, why it is integral to find the right employees, particularly with a shortage in manpower and how the stroke changed his outlook on life.
