An upbringing in the UN International community in war-torn Afghanistan, becoming an architect, artist, fashion and jewellery designer has been Lakshmi Mohanbabu’s path into the world of design. 

Lakshmi is the first and only Singaporean artist selected to be part of the Moon Gallery project. The plan is to launch 100 pieces of art into space by 2025 and place them on the surface of the moon as a permanent exhibition

An intricately designed 3D-printed cube, which represents the melding together of art and science, is one of her contributions to an exhibit that mankind will be sending to the moon.

Lakshmi also submitted another cube in metallic orange, known as the cube of Interaction, to the moon gallery.
