Dai, Adam, and Spencer are calling from all over the world today as they enjoy their end-of-the-year holiday vacation. The guys discuss how to not gain a ridiculous amount of weight during the holidays, when there’s so much good food readily available. There’s nothing wrong with spending time with your family, and eating food! Just be a little bit mindful that this is a time to relax, and that there’s nothing wrong with that. Don’t let your daily routines slip by as you become busy with family obligations. Key Takeaways: [1:30] We tend to get set back, when we take a vacation for too long. [2:45] Americans tend to gain between 3-7 pounds during the holidays. [3:45] It’s tricky not gaining the pounds, because we want to let loose and spend time with friends/family. [4:25] It’s okay to let loose, but how do we do it respectfully, where our bodies don’t end up suffering? [6:00] Grab a smaller plate. [6:25] Place the dessert beside you, so you know you need to not overstuff yourself on the main course. [6:55] Eat with chopsticks…? [8:15] Our lack of exercise during winter months probably plays more of a factor than ‘bad food’. [10:10] Fast for 17 hours! [10:35] Drink more water and fill your plate with green vegetables! [11:15] Try to get 10,000 steps in a day. [12:50] The first thing we push off to the side, is our health. [15:15] Don’t restrict yourself, it’ll make you crazy, but just be mindful of the little things. [17:20] It’s much easier to slowly incorporate habits into a busy lifestyle, than trying to reinvent yourself over night. [18:25] Don’t forget to sign up to Dai’s holiday weight loss challenge! [19:15] What are the guy’s thoughts on New Year's Resolutions? [21:05] At the end of the day, it’s about making better choices, now, and following through with that, everyday.
