El trío de post-rock atmosférico con sede en Maryland, Cavern, lanzará su cuarto álbum de larga duración, Powdered, el 28 de agosto. Las seis pistas que componen del trabajo fueron grabadas en GodCity Studio en Salem, Massachusetts con el legendario Kurt Ballou (Converge) y Zach Weeks y masterizadas por Magnus Lindberg (Cult Of Luna). El baterista Stephen Schrock explica: "El proceso de escritura para Cavern siempre ha sido un esfuerzo muy colaborativo que normalmente resulta en que [el guitarrista] Zach Harkins y yo nos enojemos por elementos muy minúsculos de las canciones. [Bajista/vocalista] Rose [Heater] proporcionó una voz y un enfoque muy geniales cuando se trataba de terminar las canciones. Decidimos grabar con Kurt en GodCity mientras regresábamos de una gira canadiense en 2019. Ya habíamos grabado algunas canciones en un estudio diferente pero queríamos para llevar las cosas al siguiente nivel. Ya habíamos hablado con Kurt sobre la grabación cuando éramos solo dos personas, pero pensamos que realmente podría ayudarnos a lograr el sonido que queríamos con este nuevo material... Queremos que nuestro sonido sea abrasivo y ruidoso, pero también maravilloso y brillante a veces. Todos tenemos influencias muy diferentes y venimos de diferentes orígenes musicales, por lo que constantemente tratamos de mantener las cosas interesantes y divertidas, al mismo tiempo que somos reflexivos y sinceros".

La formación de Savona cumple 10 años desde su fundación en 2010, y nuevamente bajo la distribución de Small Stone Records, tienen un conjunto de nuevas canciones para conformar su próximo movimiento. Este llegará el próximo 21 de Agosto bajo el nombre de ”Seven Swords”. El segundo bajo el sello de Scott Hamilton, y el cuarto movimiento en la discografía de unos italianos más ambiciosos en sus funciones que nunca. Si son muchos los que creen que lo de “Cosmic Blues”, era insuperable es que todavía no tienen ni idea de lo nuevo que nos tienen preparado. El avance así lo atestigua, y es que “Berta’s Flame”, muestra a unos Black Elephant en una forma envidiable. Como pista que abrirá el baile en esta cuarta entrega, nos rendimos al encantamiento de los italianos, con muchas ganas de mostrar al mundo este itinerario de toda su carrera en los 30 minutos que ronda este álbum.

Chicago, Illinois-based THEYRGY presents their debut EP, Exit Strategies. The record is confirmed for release in August via newly formed label, Dead Sage. THEYRGY was formed in February 2018 by John Doyle (I Decline,13 Flowers), John E. Bomher (Yakuza, Iklatus), Michael Fabiano, and Tony Hooper. Drawing inspiration from post-punk, industrial, and shoegaze artists, the band’s music aims to radiate light from within the dark spaces resonating inside and outside the listener. The map is not the territory. We’re done with living in the false structures that steal us from ourselves and our community, and funnels us into a bloated, mediocre, and unrealized life. By embracing and channeling the underlying chaos that is denied existence in the world, we find the nourishment we need to grow and live meaningful human lives. Our music is our contribution to the re-enchantment of the world. One improvisational session led to the backbone of songs on the band’s forthcoming EP, Exit Strategies. These initial bursts of ideas were refined and edited over time until they became realized songs. Recorded by John E. Bomher at Horse-Drawn Productions, Exit Strategies was produced and mixed by THEYRGY, except for “Hiding Your Face In The Wall”, which was mixed by Sanford Parker (Voivod, Yob, Indian) at Hybercube, and mastered by Josh Bonati at Bonati Mastering. Kathleen Keane (Drovers, Gaelic Storm) is a guest contributor on the track “Dreamcatcher.” The record is completed with cover art by Mirek Iskra, layout and logo by Pono Design Studio, and photos by Britknee Palm and Brett Johnson.

Back in 2018, Mountaineer’s brave concept album Passages checked all the right boxes. The captivating mix of post-metal, doom, and shoegaze was offset just so with an alluring sense of adventure, as the band threw in some odd instruments and bleak, cathartic progression in the songs. In fact, the mighty El Cuervo claimed Passages was one of the few post-metal albums he still went back to. High praise from our deliberately contrary Brit. Now these Californians have returned with Bloodletting, which promises to present an even darker take on life. The band also returns having doubled in size since Passages, having added a bass player and two more guitar players to the mix. Can Mountaineer create less with more, or will the trio of guitarists bloat Bloodletting à la Iron Maiden?

La banda black metal/crust Ancst ha anunciado la publicación de "Summits of Despondency", su nuevo álbum de estudio, el 18 de septiembre a través de Lifeforce Records. Como adelanto, la banda ha estrenado el primer single titulado "Inferno". Con un amplio catálogo de 23 lanzamientos que abarcan desde black metal y ambient oscuro hasta una fusión de hardcore metalizado y varios subgéneros de metal extremo, ANCST no es ajeno a la experimentación. Aunque la banda con sede en Berlín ha logrado crear un sonido distintivo propio, cada nuevo lanzamiento tiende a agregar algunas especias a la mezcla. El tercer álbum de la banda, "Summits Of Despondency", no es una excepción y se une a la perfección con su predecesor "Ghosts Of The Timeless Void" [2018]. REDEMPTION is one of the leading progressive metal bands in the world today. Formed in Los Angeles, California in 2000 by guitarist / keyboardist / songwriter Nicolas van Dyk, the band features iconic vocalist Tom S. Englund of Evergrey, the phenomenal rhythm section of Chris Quirarte (drums) and Sean Andrews (bass), keyboard phenom Vikram Shankar, and additional guitar work from the legendary Chris Poland (Megadeth, OHM) and Simone Mularoni (DGM). First gaining notoriety with their sophomore release, 2005’s 'The Fullness Of Time' (which featured former vocalist Ray Alder of Fates Warning), the band released their third CD, 'The Origins Of Ruin', in 2007 and followed with a tour of North America in support of progressive metal icons Dream Theater. They followed this up with a live CD/DVD of their performance at the ProgPower USA festival, 'Frozen In The Moment', in 2008. In 2009 they released 'Snowfall On Judgment Day' (which included a guest vocal performance from James LaBrie of Dream Theater), followed by 2011’s 'This Mortal Coil', after which they toured Europe for the first time and released their second live CD/DVD, 'Live From The Pit', in 2013. 2016 saw REDEMPTION deliver 'The Art Of Loss', which features not only Simone Mularoni and Chris Poland but also guitarists Marty Friedman and Chris Broderick, as well as guest performance from John Bush of Armored Saint/ex-Anthrax. Following the departure of Alder in early 2017, the band joined forces with the formidable voice of Tom S. Englund, and released its seventh studio CD, 'Long Night’s Journey Into Day', in 2018, again with Poland and Mularoni. Later that same year, the band - with live guest appearances by Mularoni, Poland and Ray Alder - headlined the 2018 edition of the ProgPower USA festival, recording the performance with multiple cameras under the direction of Patric Ullaeus (known for his videos for Evergrey, In Flames, Arch Enemy, Amaranthe and others). With REDEMPTION newly signed to AFM Records, the live package is being released as 'Alive In Color', as BluRay/2-CD and DVD/2-CD sets (both including Redemption’s live performance of the Megadeth classic 'Peace Sells' featuring Poland, believed to be the first time he performed that on stage in over 20 years). Soon thereafter, REDEMPTION will return to the studio to begin work on its 8th studio CD, which will come from AFM sometime in 2021.

More than six years since the release of “Distant Is The Sun”, VANISHING POINT are once again ready to take on the world with their world-class melodic metal assault on the senses. Their sixth full-length album “Dead Elysium” is a revisit to the epic and bombastic sounds of soaring vocals, heavy guitars and mesmerizing orchestral elements. Set for release on August 28th 2020 “Dead Elysium” is a return to form for Australia’s most iconic melodic metal band. In the early 1990s when ex-Eye-members Tommy Vucur, Jack Lukic and Joe Del Mastro found current vocalist and front man Silvio Massaro VANISHING POINT has been formed. The band’s first full-length album, “In Thought” (1997) received widespread praise and cemented the six-piece as rising stars in the growing Australian heavy metal scene. Just a year after “In Thought” was re-released by Australian record label Metal Warriors, featuring new (and current) guitarist Chris Porcianko. The band with that progressive, but still accessible compositions and aspiring musical creations did manage to put quite a few highlights to their vita over the years. They escorted a lot of big names on tour and travelled the globe with them - amongst those names were the Swedish guitar maestro Yngwie Malmsteen, finnish Symphonic masters Nightwish, Sonata Arctica, power-Metal pioneers Helloween, Joe Satriani, Edguy, Dragonforce and even the legendary Iron Maiden. Also they gave their European festival debut at the illustrious Wacken Open Air as first unsigned band ever. 2014 VANISHING POINT went on to release what is widely regarded as their most recognisable album “Distant Is the Sun”. The album was received with universal praise by critics and fans and the band did headline tours in Australia, New Zealand & Japan. Then nothing happened for quite a long time. Guitarist Chris Porcianko explains to us lately: “We faced many obstacles over the years between "Dead Elysium" and "Distant Is The Sun", we’d like to think that this album is also a kind of reflection on the journey we had as a band and as individuals over the last few years." VANISHING POINT have undergone a resurgence and have embarked on a campaign to put themselves back in the eyes of the heavy metal world. 2019 saw the band sign to Hard Drive Agency for management and worldwide bookings. Shortly thereafter, VANISHING POINT return as a five-piece, with the introduction of bassist Gaston Chin and drummer Damien Hall. "Musically I honestly just went with the flow and naturally the songs just came out how they did, there was no massive thought process as to how the songs should sound", states Porcianko. He carries on: "When writing the "Dead Elysium" album there was a general theme running through it musically and lyrically that we really wanted to touch upon regarding the state of world affairs in general and the situation we are in. The general theme lyrically when writing this album overall was more or less in regards to how we can see positive change? How can we make things better in terms of looking after each other? It definitely was not a case of “let's make the heaviest sounding album we can, because it’s gotta be heavier” and all that bullshit - it was a case of let the music speak for itself and in a sense we hope that our music helps people to connect or reconnect." The epic title song “Dead Elysium” will be heralding the new album on June 19th, followed by a second single to answer to the name of “Salvus”, saturated in dark atmosphere and melody. Both will be accompanied by lyric videos. A new official energetic and symphonic videoclip/single named “Count Your Days” will see daylight shortly before album release. Fans all around the globe will count the days until arrival of this new masterpiece, some of them will be dying to finally listen to it. But we’re able promise you one thing… “Dead Elysium” is absolutely worth the long wait!

Onslaught se forma en 1982/83 en Bristol, Inglaterra por el guitarrista Nige Rockett. con el vocalista Jase Papa y el bajista Paul Hill y poco después se unió el baterista Steve Grice. Un demo fue grabado y lanzado ese mismo año por esta alineación. Jase Papa y Paul Hill pronto fueron reemplazados por Roge Davies y Paul Davis, respectivamente. La posterior formación grabó un EP, What Lies Ahead , en 1983. En 2004, la banda se reunió con la siguiente alineación de Sy Keeler, Rockett Nige, Hinder James y Steve Grice. El cómico y guionista Fernando Moraño -'La Resistencia' de Movistar Plus- carga contra el inminente cierre del emblemático teatro Club Capitol (La Rambla, 138) de Barcelona, una situación que considera “fruto de una sociedad tecno-industrializada que quiere destruir la cultura”. Precisamente, esa sociedad es la que critica en su espectáculo de humor y sátira política 'NO-DO y Crédito', que llegará a la sala Pepe Rubianes del citado teatro los días 6 y 7 de marzo. “Nuestro país se halla inmerso en una situación insostenible, en la que reinan la corrupción, la incultura y una total permisividad de los ciudadanos a los incontables abusos cometidos, entre otros muchos, por el propio gobierno, la banca y las multinacionales”, señala el humorista, quien cree que la representación de 'NO-DO y Crédito' en el Club Capitol hará más potente el mensaje que quiere transmitir. Moraño también declara que llevar su show a este emplazamiento supone el “reto más bonito” de su vida, ya que fue precisamente Rubianes quien le inspiró para dedicarse a la comedia. En este sentido, recuerda la “increíble fascinación y las ganas de poder articular un discurso libertario con humor” que sintió la primera vez que vio actuar en vivo al ya fallecido monologuista. “Casi 20 años después de su muerte, yo, que fui su espectador más entusiasta, pongo los pies en la sala que lleva su nombre, con la intención de perpetuar ese veneno que me inyectó”, señala el cómico, quien añade que “al dolor de perder a Pepe, se une la tristeza de saber que el Capitol lucha por su supervivencia”. Fernando Moraño es un cómico con más de 10 años de experiencia en el mundo de la comedia, que ha actuado en salas de toda España. Tras grabar su sexto monólogo para Comedy Central en 2016, entró a trabajar como guionista en el programa televisivo 'LocoMundo' en el canal #0 de Movistar Plus. Actualmente desarrolla el mismo cargo en el exitoso 'late night' 'La Resistencia' de David Broncano y es también director creativo y fundador de Monologamia, productora especializada en espectáculos y contenidos de humor.

Vous avez dit Ohlalà! Ohlalà! es el primer festival dedicado al cine francófono en la ciudad de Barcelona. Creado en 2018, el Festival Ohlalà! tiene como objetivo dar a conocer lo mejor del cine francófono reciente, subtitulado en castellano o catalán, con una selección de obras inéditas presentadas en algunos de los principales festivales internacionales. Nuestro festival toma su nombre de una expresión muy característica de la lengua francesa para expresar sorpresa, alegría, nostalgia…. Ohlalà! celebra la variedad de emociones que podemos sentir frente a la gran pantalla y está compuesto de dos secciones: una sección oficial de películas inéditas y una retrospectiva dedicada a un director francófono. Cada año las películas proceden de países que forman la Francofonía : Francia, Bélgica, Suiza, Maghreb, África francófona, Quebec… En las proyecciones puedes disfrutar de la presencia de sus protagonistas: directores y actores de las películas, o de otros profesionales del cine. Asimismo, hemos tenido el honor de contar con el director Cédric Klapisch como padrino de nuestra primera edición y con la directora, actriz y guionista Agnès Jaoui en 2019. También nos han venido a visitar los directores Gilles Vernet, Lucas Belvaux, Olivier Peyon, Catherine Corsini y los actores Samir Guesmi, Cristina Brondo y Pierre Deladonchamps. Con Ohlalà!, queremos rendir homenaje a la diversidad de miradas sobre el mundo que nos aporta el cine francófono y al abanico de emociones que nos evoca. ¡Esperamos que lo disfrutes con nosotros!
