Such a powerful and well-crafted podcast. I laughed, teared up, and felt so many emotions listening to the story of reconnecting with his dad after 24 years. It struck such a personal chord with me and left me really hoping for a season two. So glad I was listening to old episodes of Nikki Glaser’s podcast, or I might never have discovered this gem. Brilliant storytelling.

Want to know how bad and desperate a podcast is for listens/downloads and ratings? They play ads for the same podcast twice at every commercial break when listening to the radio, whether online or in the car. Yes, this is one of those, and sometimes there is only one commercial separating them.

I fully enjoyed this podcast. Gary did a great job telling the story of his dad’s cons…he was funny, yet was able to stay serious as well. Super easy to listen to and I highly recommend it!

Could have condensed a bunch but interesting story

It’s a bizarre journey that is interesting, funny and engaging. I took it all down in one day.

When I first started this podcast, I though he tried to show you an unusual and fun childhood . I though he did these things to impress you and earn your love. But once you gave him the opportunity to show himself… oh no. This man is toxic. He has a severe narcissistic personality disorder. My recommendation would be for you to move on. I would not want him to be involved with your children. He will never change. That’s probably why his “new” daughter lives in France. No once should, take a child’s dog away. He is cruel and always will be.

I understand that’s not how podcasts work, because of advertising, but the truth is, there are too many 10-ep shows that should’ve been 3-4 episodes.

I loved listening to this podcast and couldn’t wait for the next episode to drop! Manny is something else. Listening to Gary discover who his dad is from an adult perspective was fascinating.

This podcast Gary was willing to share with the world was a great one. As someone with an absent father it was really cool to listen to someone explain there side of story and then see both sides of the coin! As great a listen as it was a story! EXCELLENT job, Gary!

I think this podcast is a con.

I have really enjoyed taking this journey with Gary, though at times I get lost in my own thoughts because of similar experiences in my past. Gary is facing his fears with bravery and I am rooting for him each step of the way. Regardless of the ending, I’m really enjoying the road he’s taking.

The show is very well produced. Gary is like a Long Island Sarah Koenig, this whole podcast was a great listen.

It’s all about Gary’s con man father and how they used to sneak into games at MSG and “interview” famous athletes. Then it gets into even deeper cons. And it’s also about fathers/sons, family, dealing with the past, and so much more. It’s fascinating and vulnerable and I bet you’ll get hooked after ya listen.

Very interesting show and captivating story. However, Gary telling everyone in his life that when he called his childhood homes’ number it “cut off” is driving me nuts. Just tell them what actually happened… the robotic voice informed you the voicemail box was full.

Totally captivating journey through a crazy ride. Told with humor, love, anger and sarcasm, Gary’s attempt to make contact with his dad is an easy listen for anyone who loves a great story.

Great podcast, super interesting story and everything in production stages is done perfectly. Only gripe is iHeart radio, 5 minutes of irrelevant ads per 30 minute episodes isn’t something I love. Would rather listen to Gary plug dates, talk about the same ads that all other pods advertise. IHeart doesn’t care about the pod and ruins the flow of the episode every single week

Guys a good story teller, he keeps it’s pretty interesting throughout. One thing I would do, tell your wife that you got this, her comments annoy me dog

as a new parent he describes fixating on a meaningless athlete documentary in the presence of an infant son, believing it to be something of a bonding moment. that is how this series kicks off. so clearly we have as usual in podcasting a mental unhinged if not fully delusional and certifiably insane narrator presenting an entirely skewed and disturbing picture of his rendition of past events. a pity. surely the child could benefit from active engagement with an adult guardian figure not wrapped up in some far-fetched notion that publishing this broadcast will bring his beloved daddy back into his life…….

Great pod. 50% advertisements. But the 5 mins of content per episode is solid.
