Jeremy that sandwich dude
Is a hot dog a sandwich?
It has bread with a filling… so it’s kind of hard to deny that it fits the dictionary’s definition.
Grilled Cheese vs a melt. I think if you add anything to a grilled cheese it will become a melt. Jeremy says maybe all grilled cheeses are melts, it’s just a type of melt. Similar to all bourbon is whiskey but not all whiskey is bourbon.
Jeremy tells me the origin story of his sandwich-centric food Instagram. He’s a Columbus, Ohio based foodie, he’s a chill guy that loves sandwiches, his wife, and his dog. His wife Rebecca has a background in marketing, she’s the one who takes the photos, Jeremy is the face and smile of the page. Teamwork makes the dream work.
Top 3 Columbus, Ohio restaurants
The 3 best Columbus, Ohio restaurants according to Jeremy are: Wario’s, Joya’s, and Ray Ray’s Hog Pit. I actually interviewed 2 of these 3 business owners. Find them here: Wario’s podcast episode and Ray Ray’s Hog Pit podcast episode.
Raising Cane’s and dumplings are his go to junk food / munchies / snacks.
Columbus, Ohio FOOD CHALLENGES
I talk about the time I defeated the Dagwood Challenge at Ohio Deli. It was a 2 pound sandwich and a pound of fries in 30 minutes. I asked Jeremy if he could do a food challenge based on quantity or high spice level.
He used to eat the hottest level at Hot Chicken Takeover but nowadays he’s eating medium. I used to eat insanely hot stuff, I’ve done spicy challenges myself, but lately habanero level heat is as spicy as I’ll go.
Film Feast
Jeremy’s favorite representation of food onscreen is the Big Kahuna burger in Pulp Fiction. He really wants to eat a Krabby Patty.
Top Chef superfan
In Washington, DC, he ate at Mike Isabella’s restaurant. When Jeremy and his wife were on the way to Mike’s restaurant they ran into him and were able to chat a bit and grab a picture. In this week’s episode we talk about all of that and more. It’s available on Spotify, Apple Podcast, on my website, and wherever you listen to podcasts.
