good morning cellists and piano players welcome to royal clarence and the music school now this is just a little broadcast really to tell you that i'm teaching again and that you can book me via zoom for piano lessons cello lessons and composition lessons and also now electronica i'm a composer primarily but i also play piano and cello and if you want to do something where you combine all three and you're writing your own music or you want to write your own music then i'm quite happy to do that but if you go along to the website and the booking section if you book piano and just put a note in it to say or send me an email to say that you actually would like to do some other instrumentation studies or you would like to do some composing then we'll include that in your half hour i use logic pro and garageband garageband is free
logic pro is about 170 pounds i think it's pretty pricey i think but we can easily make wonderful wonderful music with garageband just to kick you off and you can even use garageband to make a professional single and produce it i did hear that rihanna uses garageband on her tracks but you know that might maybe a myth but i did hear that so it's amazing what we can do with with quite basic software and a computer and so i'm happy to do that otherwise traditional cello traditional piano and suzuki and the abrsm which is the british examination board um examinations for graded uh instruments so you start off with grade one and it's pretty basic in fact there's an introduction and then every um well i mean some people spend a year doing each grade and that's absolutely fine actually it's very thorough it depends how much you practice and it depends if you've got supported to home it depends how musical you are already some people don't need to start on grade one some people can go straight
into grade three for example um if you're already an instrumentalist you can usually start at grade three because you already me read the music and you already understand rhythms and what have you um so that's uh just notification of that now in regards to orchestra as well um we're doing the bruckner um symphony at the moment and i did do a show uh practice yesterday but i didn't do a broadcast but we're broadcasting every day with little tips about that and there's a very tricky chord um broken chord which um i'll talk about later so we'll live broadcast later because we need to work out which fingers you know because it's quite it's quite awkward to play so we'll do that a bit later on anyway welcome to the music room and a summer of wonderful wonderful playing um playing enjoying performing and if you can't afford lessons you can sign up to my um my website and to the platform the music platform and
