hi guys welcome to royal clarence i'm in the sewing room today all day i was in the sewing room all day yesterday as well now this is a burning hearts bra update just in case you don't know about what's going on i've designed a brazilian which stops hot burn well rather that's misleading it doesn't stop heartburn if you've already got it but what it does is it stops the pressure against your body that cause that can cause heartburn now when i was a young woman i always had my breasts trusted up in you know wire and lace and desperately
uncomfortable actually but um i mean i used to sleep in a bra crazy to think that you know in those days a bra didn't affect me at all now i have this ongoing health issue called reflux and i have to take drugs and medication for that but if i wear anything tight within about 10 minutes i start to feel really sick and that is the acid that's coming up from my stomach because it the the wire or the tight garment is actually stopping my food get properly digesting this is a real thing if you look on google you will see that if you have reflux you can't wear or you shouldn't wear tight clothes this is an actual thing so i was looking around for bras i've been suffering
with this for a couple of years now and i didn't put two and two together i just kept feeling really really sick and then especially if i was slumped on a chair which i am often or slumped in bed you know reading a book or talking or whatever it is well i could i'm still in bed now so that's why i say talking i don't um have all my friends around sit in the bed have a chat but where you're slumped like that and your body's curved and then you've got something tight on and i kept getting this pain and heartburn and discomfort and i thought i've taken my tablets what's going on then it twigged my clothing's too tight so i was started experimenting with
bras and i could not find a bra that offered me support and loose fitting it seemed like the holy grail so i spent about a month or two months maybe longer actually buying bras going to charity shops and buying sports bras just to see if they would work with this reflux and nothing did the sports bras were actually just as bad as they were because the sports bras flatten everything so you've just got this compression cage so i thought i started thinking then well perhaps that compression's really bad you know flattening your boobs and what you're doing actually is making your boobs press on your torso and that's appeared to be give that appear to be what was giving me [ __ ] you know and then the elastic underneath the bra on a sports bra is usually very very tight because normally sports bras are you know pull them over your head so they have to be tight once they're down to stay up they're not going to be as
wide as your shoulders for example that wouldn't make sense so they're very tight elastic so of course when it pings back into position it's just this massive restriction and so i went to uh the design room as it were and i started experimenting with all sorts of different things and i finally come up with something which i feel very very confident about and my daughter thought of the name actually it's burning hearts bra um and it's just totally and utterly wonderful so i finished the first sample which was a sort of working prototype and the other great thing about my bra is that it's all recycled i mean you can't recycle everything but it's all recycled as wherever i could recycle i did so what what we're doing actually is we're buying up old bras or people are donating them to us and they get disinfected and washed and cleaned and then cut up and the bits that i use are the clips at the back and the in side paddy bits the
shaped um foamy bit that's inside most bras actually so these are cleaned i've got a whole stack of them now and i use these in the burning hearts bra to give...
