The 17th Century view of the mind and body as being separate -known as the "Cartesian mind / body split" led us to our current biomedical model which tends to ignore the influence of the mind and emotions on health. More recently, there has been a great deal of interest and research into understanding how our emotions and thoughts effect our physical wellbeing.
Barb and Joe take look at how this connection has been perceived over time and in different cultures. They discuss how how we can improve our health and ability to manage stress by engaging in practices that create a better union of the physical, energetic, and mental bodies.
