In 2020, Beyond the Bars by disrupted by COVID-19 restrictions, making live broadcasts impossible at a time when prison abolition was in the news agenda for a change and the weeklong broadcast was pre-recorded. This programme mines the 2019 Beyond the Bars special to show why we need prison abolition, in the words of Indigenous prison inmates.
