The Webb telescope was launched from South America on Christmas Day last year - a tightly wrapped package of wires, plastic and gold plated-beryllium that unfolded into a telescope in space. It’s now in orbit one million miles away and has produced the deepest and sharpest infrared images of the distant universe to date.
