The first College Football Playoff rankings will be released on Tuesday night, likely leading with some combination of Ohio State, LSU, Alabama and Clemson. History tells us about half of those teams won't make the playoff. Only 11 of the 20 teams that debuted in the top four have advanced since the CFP inception.
