Jody is a woman passionate about learning and development. Looking back, she was a perfectionist who was always active and unstoppable and she did not take time even to celebrate success.
While her cancer diagnosis brought many unfortunate turns and twists that Jody never expected, it flashed before her eyes how she was busy doing life but was not actually living it. Thanks to cancer, she has since lived a life with a whole new purpose and perspective. She has come to realize what she values the most -- relationships
Highlights:
- Journey to Jody began with her cancer diagnosis -- lost multiple jobs, the marriage failed, set children for college -- and it is still on
- Slowing down and leading a mindful and intentional life helps you learn a lot of things
- Perfectionism sets you up for a sure failure and therefore the worst way to approach life
- No one else will be you and do you; do not attempt to pattern your life after other people's validation
- Life is about moments; pause for those moments because they will soon become memories
- It is ok not to know and control the future; not knowing it all should be part of the journey to enjoy
Jody has a bachelor's degree in Sociology from Hamilton College, a Masters in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University, and a Leadership and Coaching Certificate from the University of Rochester. Jody joined CooperVision in November 2021 as an Organizational Development Business Partner. She is a huge believer that the differentiator and the DNA of any company or organization are its people. You may follow and connect with her on LinkedIn to understand how her journey to finding her own identity has been bringing out the best in her as well as how her concepts of grit and resilience can encourage you to move forward.
