The show’s purpose is to showcase all the great work by individuals and organizations to create a more diverse and inclusive world that directly or indirectly improves people’s health by creating equity and access. The concept for the podcast grew out of the following:
- The idea all of us need to be prioritizing healthcare, personal health, the concept of what it means to be healthy, and what we consider wellness differently.
- That we all need to be better informed and engaged in discussing health, especially those that impact equity.
- Highlight all the great health equity work people did, not just in healthcare spaces or by healthcare professionals, but also share stories from non-healthcare spaces.
- Tales from people who were improving our wellness through their activism, their passion, and often just by showing us a different way to envision health.
- Share stories that we may not automatically connect with health, wellness, and healthcare from creative spaces.
- Share stories from fields we don’t associate with health equity efforts.
- Talk with people passionate about the concept of health over wealth acquisition as a way to measure success.
- Discuss health data in accessible language and how it impacts our lives.
