On October 26th of 1973, American jazz musician Herbie Hancock released his twelfth studio album Head Hunters. Hancock was tired of everything heavy and wanted something lighter. With that in mind, the keyboardist shed his former backing band, and guitars, and recorded his Miles-meets-Sly Stone masterpiece. By reinventing an old classic and creating a new jazz standard, Hancock pioneered the jazz funk movement. In this podcast we go through Rolling Stone magazine’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
